 | | percyblakeney: I've no idea about all of them, but the Chinese players did well. Wang Yue got the Grand Prix invitation but maybe he isn't better than the three that played here. Wang Hao probably had the best score of everyone with his +5. Karjakin's +2 was definitely OK, while Nepomniachtchi won't be happy with his -4. Mamedyarov went = and seems to be a bit from his best form, Shirov had +2 as did Kamsky and Grischuk. Navara scored +1, Bareev -3, to mention a few others. |

Mamedyarov usually just completely kills the 2600s but then has only so-so results against his fellow 2700s. And his rating is changing to reflect this. <frogbert> shows Mamedyarov's live rating to be around 2739, down from around 2761 just four months ago. |
