  firebyrd: <wordfunph: <0-0-0-0> Maybe she's in love>

But she opened with 2/2 so she obviously wasn't in love then. The turning point was game 3 when she played - and drew - Sergei Zhigalko, so that must be the one, QED!

Feb-06-10  Sequoia: Funny, in Le Quang - Sasikiran top board today, White can take the Black Queen for nothing since move 20...

Obviously a transmission mistake.

Very bad transmission. The KGB must have something to do with it. (hahahah!>

notyetagm: Wow, what a tactical shot by Amonatov in round 7, 56 Qf8xBc8+!! .

http://www.moscowchessopen.ru/a/com...

<F.Amonatov – A.Gabrielian

Opponents have played Vinavera system in French defense. Having searched the overweight, White lost three pawns. To a victory in a position on the diagram conducted - 55... Kb8 or 55... Ka7. And 55... Qh5? lost because of 56.Rh8! Why? We’ll see:

55...Rh4? 56.Qxc8+!!
Unexpectedly!

56…Rxc8 57.Rxc8+ Qb8
It is necessary to return a Queen. On 57... Ka7 would follow effective 58.Nc6 +! bxc6 59.Rf7 +, with a mate

58.Rxb8+ Kxb8 59.Rf8+ Ka7 60.Kxg3

And White realised the piece:>

60...Rh1 61.Rf7 Kb8 62.Nxe6 Ra1 63.Kf2 Rxa5 64.Ke3 Rb5 65.Kd4 a5 66.Rf8+ Ka7 67.Nc7. Black resigns.>

Feb-07-10  Don Cossacks: GM Le Quang Liem is on fire lately, winning Kolkata Open,XingQiu Open 2009 held in Lishui,China in a crushing manner(7.5 pts.,1 point ahead of Yu Yangyi) and now possibly the Moscow Open 2010.Go Vietnam!

I personally have nothing against Mr Chernyshov, so I will also congratulate him on his joint first (of 4) position :-)

Caissanist: Chernyshov won the exchange agains Le, then immediately agreed to a draw. This seems strange, but perhaps if you feed the position to a bot it's a forced draw. Here is the score of the game:

eternaloptimist: well, i noticed that volkov lost on his birthday. that's too bad. although, inarkiev had to win to tie for 1st place so u can't blame him for not agreeing to a draw w/ him.
