suenteus po 147: <clocked> Were there more than one type of predictions to participate in? Starting with round 3 or so I was predicting results non-stop!
Nov-28-04  clocked: I only collected the prematch predictions of top three finishers.

suenteus po 147: <clocked> Aha! Thank you. Yes, I didn't participate in those predictions.

<cu8sfan> Woo-hoo! Last place! It takes a lot of work to finish last, people.

Nov-28-04  Minor Piece Activity: Nice. I have the best average (3.8!) and participated in 5 rounds. Should have started earlier. :( I had a feeling that Kaspy would win this one for some reason.
Nov-28-04  iron maiden: Hey, nice guys always finish last. ;-)

Seriously though, you undoubtedly would have placed higher if there'd been bonus points for correctly predicting upsets, like in a lot of organized betting systems.

Nov-28-04  iron maiden: That last was directed to sp147, of course.
Nov-29-04  arjunkakar: <clocked> what happened to your final list of prediction scores.

Nov-30-04  Phoenix: Congratulations to <TylerD>!

<clocked> We can't thank you enough for all the time and effort you put into the prediction-keeping. Maybe you'll be able to do the same for Corus? :-)

Nov-30-04  yoozum: i'll return to form come corus time. all of you should beware.
Dec-04-04  GufeldStudent: How do people think this compares to previous Kasparov performances. I think this was pretty damn impressive.
Dec-04-04  GufeldStudent: What is going on with the Kasparov Kasim match?
Dec-04-04  yoozum: <gufeldstudent>, there's little news about the match other than that it may be played in turkey. it's still in a state of limbo. kasparov's victory is without a doubt impressive, but his rustiness/age did show in a few games.
Dec-10-04  AdrianP: Why wasn't the Russian Championship on the ACP Tour: see here http://chess-players.org/eng/tour/t...
Dec-10-04  unsound: <AdrianP> Because it was only open to Russians?
Dec-10-04  AdrianP: <unsound> I thought that might be the case but inclusion on the tour doesn't seem to be dependent on any sort of inclusiveness - e.g. the Leko-Kramnik match seems to be rated for the ACP Tour.
Dec-10-04  AdrianP: The Tour Rules do not appear to preclude a single nationality tournament. I guess the more likely explanation for my query is simply that the Russian Championship didn't ask to be on the ACP Tour.

acirce: The WC match could have been between players of any nationality, but it happened to be between Kramnik and Leko, while the Russian Superfinal was per definition only for Russians. Although in any case, it goes to show the arbitraryness of the ACP Tour - no matter how well you do in some tournaments, it doesn't count if it's not the right ones. If this somehow were to produce a WC candidate it would be totally absurd.

acirce: <The Tour Rules do not appear to preclude a single nationality tournament.> Well, they do:

III 1.
<This means that blitz tournaments, team competitions, national championships and insufficiently strong individual tournaments will not be part of the ACP Tour.>

Dec-16-04  AdrianP: <acirce> Thanks, well spotted.
Dec-16-04  ruylopez900: Does anyone know if there are plans for a similiar final next year/in two years time? Thanks.
Nov-12-12  pericles of athens: i didn't start playing chess until 2008. so cool you guys got to kibitz this tournament live!!!
