  whiteshark: Drawgi weakens slightly.
Jan-25-08  VishyFan: Up next...

Round 12 - Saturday the 26th
F. Nijboer - F. Caruana
P. Negi - E. Grivas
Z. Peng - D. Reinderman

Round 13 - Sunday the 27th
D. Reinderman - M. van der Werf
F. Caruana - P. Negi
P. Carlsson - F. Nijboer

If Negi can win the Round 12 game, then the Round 13 game between Caruana & Negi would be a title decidng game...

Jan-26-08  VishyFan: Negi won and is 8/12 now...

It will be interesting to see what happens in Nijober - Caruana..

and it will be double interesting in the last round game of Caruana - Negi.., it will be a "winner takes it all" game....

Jan-26-08  VishyFan: Caruana won and is 9/12 now...
Negi won and is 8/12...
Nijober lost and is 7/12...

Reinderman's game is still in progress, but he is pawn down in a R+N end-game...

If Negi wins the last round game against Caruana, they will be tied for the number of points and number of wins and Negi might be declared the winner based on his win over Caruana and a berth in Corus 'B' in 2009...

Jan-26-08  weisyschwarz: Reinderman should have lost. It seems Peng failed to attack his R with her K, and so just allowed for a draw.

Jan-26-08  WhiteTanager: Does anyone know if Braun or Krush can get a GM norm?
Jan-27-08  VishyFan: Have the games started yet? They were supposed to have started 5 mins ago... (2 hours earlier than the previous days)

Group 'A' and Group 'B' games will start an hour later, that is 1 hour earlier than the previous days...

Jan-27-08  VishyFan: The games have started...

Caruana - Negi is a Ruy - strong point variation......., They have blitzed throuh 11 moves already...

There is so much on stake in this game that i am expecting this to be an exciting one......

Jan-27-08  VishyFan: Negi already on the move......
Jan-27-08  vlado23: is Caruana's 18. f3 a book move?
Jan-27-08  anandr: Negi is burning precious time. Caruana has spent only 3 min on this clock, and Negi already 38.

Jan-27-08  anandr: <vlado23: is Caruana's 18. f3 a book move?>

Yes, so far they seem to be following a game played by Motylev and Vajda. This game however does not seem to loaded in cg.

Jan-27-08  anandr: Ok, now they have deviated from the said earlier game. That game went:

18. Bh3
19. Qf2 Rxe1+
20. Qxe1 Nf6
21. Qf2 Re8
22. Nf1 Qg6

Jan-27-08  kasp: Caruana-Negi 1-0. Caruana the best,very very strong
Jan-27-08  pawnofdoom: Looks like this is the only section that doesn't plan to have almost all draws today. only 1 draw and 6 games have been completed!

Caruana beat Negi and Reinderman drew so he wins by 2 points!!

An Englishman: Good Morning: Does Corus have a promotion system similar to English football? In other words, having won Group C, will Caruana be invited to compete in Group B next year?

Open Defence: it would seem so <An Englishman> Pavel Eljanov was invited this year into Group A having won Group B last year, so I make an educated guess that this applies between the other Groups as well
Jan-27-08  weisyschwarz: So does Movsesian move into A, as well? Who would he replace?
