Oct-21-04  Knight13: Wow. These games are totally amazing! Maybe everybody knows, Kasparov has won the match. But why did the coatch of this Match put a computer program? That's retarted. Thanks, <chessgames.com>, for posting these great games!

Karpova: This wasn't one tournament but several different ones. The SuperGM 2001 for example was Linares (with Kasparov winning ahead of Polgar, Karpov, Grishuk, Leko and Shirov while all the latter had the same amount of points and a score of -1). I'm 100% sure about that. The Kasparov-Karpov closed Caro-Kann with g4 is the proof. Yeah, and that Polgar didn't loose to Kaspy. The one with Junior in it may have been a tournament in Dortmund (maybe Mainz)

suenteus po 147: <Kaprova> Thanks. That helps make sense of senselessness.

My next question is why lump the tournaments together? Why not just separate them into their collected wholes?

suenteus po 147: <chessgames.com> Is there a way to split up the different tournaments into their proper collections? I see Dortmund 2000, Linares 2001, and Linares 2002 here (although a couple of the Dortmund games are missing). I'm no computer expert but the problem probably has to do with each game being designated the same, as "SuperGM" instead of by it's individual event. If you could change the event name maybe they would be grouped together properly?
Jan-31-07  Dr.Lecter: No wonder I've never heard of this tournament.

JointheArmy: Junior could only finish with an even score +2 -2 and one of the wins was against punching bag Huebner and Leko who blundered in a drawn position.

I think computers would have less success in a tournament where a player would have to play a computer only once instead of 7 games of perfect play.

Sep-14-08  ravel5184: <SuperGM> What's up with your tournament page? Only 10 kibitzes? (well 11 now).

whiteshark: Just append <&crosstable=1> and you will see who was the Best in 2001.

Mar-16-11  Penguincw: Is this the Linares or the SuperGM tournament?
