| Jun-25-04 | | AdrianP: A good showing from Viktor... still got some teeth - although a lot of his wins were positional grinds. Beliavsky got off to a disastrous start with 0.5/3, but put in a great run of wins to finish 3rd. Still in the World Chess Championships as well - maybe a bit of a dark horse. I think that he was a Kasparov second at some point - be interesting to have a match between those two... although it might be a bit one-sided. |

| Jun-25-04 | | iron maiden: Forza Korchnoi! The man's immortal. |
| Jun-26-04 | | Bobsterman3000: Viktor may play until he's 100! By then he may drop down to a mere 2400 or so... |
| Jun-26-04 | | JSYantiss: lol....even at a "mere" 2400, Korchnoi would kill me. |
| Jun-27-04 | | Sylvester: Didn't Kasparov beat Beliavsky in a Candidates' match? Or was that a different guy? |
| Jun-27-04 | | iron maiden: <Sylvester> Yes, back in 1982. See http://www.mark-weeks.com/chess/828.... |

| Jun-28-04 | | Sylvester: Thanks <iron maiden>. I thought so. |

| Jul-12-04 | | Rowson: I love Korchnoi! Good to see that he is STILL capable of winning some serious competitions. |
| Jul-28-04 | | ArturoRivera: How old is Kornchnoi actually? |
Jul-28-04
 | | Benzol: Born 23rd July 1931 |
| Aug-03-04 | | ArturoRivera: 73 years old! and the man is still playing high level chess! |
| Aug-06-04 | | waddayaplay: I think the problem is that there are no good chess books focused on old people. All training, study, books, &c , are focused on kids. Older people can learn too of course, but noone has taken the time to investigate into it. Probably other measurements needs to be taken. To learn positions and patterns is not essential, because they know it already. Instead, more focus on staying fit and alert; mental excercises; tai chi every morning. Stuff like that. |
