 | | crafty: Oh well, there's always next year... |

 | | suenteus po 147: <crafty> Ha! So you can say more than just move analysis! What was it like playing against Fritz? Is he really the robo-jerk Kramnik painted him out as being? I bet he's actually a real nice super-program in person. |
Jul-14-04
 | | suenteus po 147: <crafty> BTW, nice showing in the tournament. Your only losses were against top seeded computers, and that's a particularly nice draw against Shredder in the Rossolimo Sicilian. I wish you luck next year :) |

 | | acirce: Short but interesting article on computer chess from New Scientist: http://www.newscientist.com/news/ne... |

 | | Tennyson: He he he. The article on computer chess was written by Will Knight. Punny. |
| Jul-14-04 | | diablotins: How does Deep Junior can sacrifice pawn without clear retribution like in Diep VS DJ or Crasy Bishop VS DJ ? What's the way it calculs that ? Piece activity ? Initiatives on the king ? |
Jul-14-04
 | | Lawrence: <diablotins>, the Newscientist article mentioned by <acirce> says that "unlike most leading chess programs, Junior places less emphasis on the value of individual pieces and more on factors such as mobility and positional advantage." |
| Jul-14-04 | | Cornwallis: <crafty>
Hey a machine can talk!
Well anyways, I like how Junior played. It fully understands things such as time, space, pawn structure, and piece mobility or aka compensation rather than just material and unlike those cheap pawn grabbing computers. |
| Jul-16-04 | | fluidfive: Would anybody know why Hiarcs, Tiger and Deep Fritz did not participate? |
Jul-19-04
 | | biglo: Diep is unusual in that it was written by FM Vincent Diepeveen a FIDE titled player. |
| Aug-10-04 | | apple head: Pour crafty got smashed into 3rd place :-( Better luck next year |
| Aug-11-04 | | xiaolin: sorry to break the ice and everything but that probably wasnt crafty .. |
| Aug-16-04 | | sleepkid: ...no, it was Crafty, I'll vouch for him. He's usually pretty reticent, but after a few beers you can't shut him up. And he's quite the man. . . err. . . it's quite the man. . . computer. . . ummm. . . something. . . with the ladies! ...yeah. |
Aug-16-04
 | | Lawrence: <sleepkid>, you promised to punch Fischer on the nose but you didn't mention that you were going to knock out all his teeth at the same time. Anyway, nice to see you again. Are you still in Japan? |
| Aug-20-04 | | sleepkid: ...still in Japan. Have you heard of Fischer's latest ploy to escape deportation? He proposed marriage to the head of the Japanese Chess Association (a sweet old lady who apparently thinks that Fischer can walk on water) - however, it is off now since she found out about Fischer's common law wife in the Phillipines, and the child he had with her. . . . oh the drama. People should have learned to stop listening to Fischer a long time ago. |
| Aug-30-04 | | xiaolin: yes sleepkid and thats why no one hardly ever replies to your kibitzing ;) oh wait.. / \ |
| Oct-22-04 | | Knight13: Exactly as what I thought! Deep Junior is the best computer every! FIBchess is all the way stupid. I wanna get one of those computers some where. |
Jul-31-05
 | | cade: FIBchess....Hahahahaha, what a loser of a program. |
| Mar-18-07 | | hscer: must be some embarrassed programmers out there |
