lostemperor: Timman did not participate for long because he demanded huge apearance fees which has been abandoned. But the reason Timman is not here now is very simple: he was not invited.

The funny thing is right after the tournament the whole Dutch top, including Timman, played in an open in Amsterdam. Nijboer who scored only 2 points here won the tournament! Van Wely Timman and Sokolov a.o. shared second.
