Jul-31-04    chessgames.com: We now have the games from the 2004 Dutch Championships. Loek Van Wely retains his position as #1 Dutch player. Aug-01-04    chesscookie: what happenend to jan timman? Aug-04-04    lostemperor: Timman did not participate for long because he demanded huge apearance fees which has been abandoned. But the reason Timman is not here now is very simple: he was not invited. The funny thing is right after the tournament the whole Dutch top, including Timman, played in an open in Amsterdam. Nijboer who scored only 2 points here won the tournament! Van Wely Timman and Sokolov a.o. shared second.
