Jun-23-05  Knight13: Zoltan Almasi wins with 6.5/10. Impressive.
Jun-23-05  fgh: And I thought I might write "first"...

Jun-23-05  Hesam7: How many rating points did Viktor gain during this tournament?
Jun-23-05  VishyFan: <Hesam7> Korchnoi gains 10 rating points from this tourny, but that will be for the oct rating cycle
Jun-23-05  iron maiden: 6/10 against an average opposition of 2614 gives him 9 points back, it seems. Sutovsky on the other hand will lose around 30.
Jun-24-05  VishyFan: <iron maiden> the official site has the rating of Korchnoi as 2619, which is wrong, his correct rating is 2616 and with a score of +2 against 2615 avg. rated opponents, he is set to gain 10 points, whereas sutovsky will be losing big time, 23 ELO......., Almasi will be gaining 13 ELO, Sasikiran will be gainin 1 ELO, Berkes and Acs will not be gaining any ELO from this trounament.
Jun-24-05  Knight13: See : and
Jun-24-05  refutor: korchnoi was at 5/7 and ran out of gas only scoring /3 to finish, including losing as white to almasi Korchnoi vs Z Almasi, 2005
Jun-24-05  TheSlid: Yes, I thought he had the draw in his pocket against Almasi. As usual, I don't see exactly where he went wrong. Perhaps I should reinstall Fritz and work out how to use the analysis function properly.
Jun-26-05  latvija: It's nice to see that Korchnoi is still playing. The esteemed Bobby Fischer could take a page from Viktor!
Jun-26-05  Hesam7: <VishyFan>, <iron maiden> thx for the info. According to chessbase report Viktor had a performance rating of 2685 in this tournament.
