| Jul-09-05 | | Knight13: <Agdestein and Carlsen both finished with 7/9.> Congratulations to you both! |

| Jul-09-05 | | admiralnemo: what happens now? how does the tiebreak work for these championships? |
 |
| Jul-10-05 | | cuendillar: I think it's a tie-break match. Magnus faced Berge Ostenstad in such a match last year, but fell in it. |
 |
| Jul-10-05 | | EeEk: There will be a tiebreak match in the end of September, but the rules are changed since last year, so 1-1 is not enough to take the title. If the playoff is tied, they will play two and two rapid games until a winner is decided. |

| Jul-24-05 | | Arawak: Isn't Agdestein Carlsen's coach? |
 |
Jul-24-05
 | | Appaz: <Arawak> Yes, but there are more coaches around Carlsen. Peter Heine Nielsen is one, and there has also been talk about Carlsen going to Russia. |
 |
| Jul-24-05 | | Montreal1666: <Appaz:> You have to admit that it is odd that Agdestein is both Magnus's trainer and opponent!! It could happen that in a tournament they end up playing one game against each other, but this is totaly different. He is supposed to play a match against Magnus to determine the champion of Norway. Agdestein should never compete in a tournament where he would become the obstacle for Magnus to win it. |

 | | Appaz: <Montreal1666> I don't see any problem with that, really. Of course that means Carlsen has an extra obstacle to pass if they meet, as Agdestein should know him very well. But my impression is that Agdestein always have had a relaxed attitude about titles and such, and he may have passed that attitude to Carlsen. The important thing for Carlsen now is not titles, but to experiment and develop his play, and maybe competing head to head with his trainer just is an inspiration for him. Agdestein was 15 year when he became Norwegian Champion, and in a way he is defending his own "title" as the youngest ever, not bad for a man of his age! :) |

| Jul-24-05 | | Montreal1666: <Appaz:> If Agdestein does his best to win and wins this match, I am afraid I disagree with you. Let's hope Magnus wins. If not we will talk about it then. |
