| 810609: <cu8sfan> so now you have 3,5/6? Congratulations, you are better than Vladimir "50 %" Kramnik! :-) |
| Jul-26-05 |
| Montreal1666: <cu8sfan:> Now you need one more win! |
Jul-26-05
| percyblakeney: <cu8sfan> Congratulations, you're ahead of some 2000 players, not bad at all! |
Jul-26-05
| percyblakeney: Will all my predictions be wrong also in the last round? Time will tell: Bauer - Pelletier 1-0
Nakamura - Gelfand ½-½
Volokitin - Carlsen ½-½

| cu8sfan: <Montreal1666> What happens after one more win? (-: |

| TruthHurts: <TruthHurts: Predictions for last round: Bauer - Pelletier 1-0
Nakamura - Gelfand 0-1(obviously)
Volokitin - Carlsen 1/2
>
Well I guess it's a perfect score. |
Jul-27-05
| Knight13: Nakamura fell of the cliff, man. What happend? How did he lose like that? |
| Jul-27-05 |
| VishyFan: Hikaru ****** himself with 3 continous defeats in the last 3 rounds for a -1 score........, he'll be losing 9 ELO from this tournament is he due any ELO after the last rating cycle? |
| Jul-28-05 |
| alexapple: Volokitin and Gelfand, who has the better tiebreak? |
| Jul-28-05 |
| cade: Gelfand wins the tournament but loses rating points. That'll teach him to go for draws against opponents with a vastly inferior rating. |
| Jul-28-05 |
| howardtheduck: I'm sorry i must have misted a part of the conversation but <cu8sfan>, you are playing in wich tournament? |
Jul-28-05
| cu8sfan: <howardtheduck> I'm playing in the main tournament (2000 Elo and less) in Biel and I have a surprising 4 out of 8. That's more than I was ever hoping for. It's a fun tournament and I learned so much there. Tomorrow is the last round and I'll try very hard to get at least 50%. So my prediction for tomorrow (it helped the last time): cu8sfan wins! |
Jul-28-05
| tpstar: <cu8sfan> Great job! Good luck tomorrow. And be sure to upload your games into the database! ;>D |
Jul-28-05
| cu8sfan: Thanks, <tpstar>. I played some very interesting games but they still might not qualify for the strict (!?) criterias set by cg.com. (-; |
| Jul-28-05 |
| Montreal1666: <cu8sfan:> you can just post one that you like best. |
Jul-30-05
| patzer2: Nakamura may not have finished as well as he would have liked, but at least he played exciting aggressive chess and made some progress in his opening repertoire. I think Nakamura will learn from these games and prove himself a much stronger opponent in future GM tournaments. |
| Jul-31-05 |
| farrooj: hey <cu8sfan> what happened? did you kick ass? |
Jul-31-05
| cu8sfan: Well, Biel is over but the last day was very forgettable. My train ride to Biel was cut short because Swiss Federal Railroad ran out of electricity and therefore I arrived late. With 40 minutes less on the clock battling a stronger opponent I had no chance. So I scored 4 out of 8 (I don't count #9) which is very satisfying. I was surprised about my success and playing there was a lot of fun. Once I've gone through the games I may be posting a nice one. Thanks for your support! I can only give this advice to all players no matter their strength: Go play at some tournament, it's fun and you learn so much! |
| Jul-31-05 |
| farrooj: oh..that last day is too bad..
Well, your 4/8 is really cool. I agree, tournaments are really fun, and you learn a lot by kibitzing games with strong opponents, or play against them.
And you get really satisfied if you score really well |

| EmperorAtahualpa: <cu8sfan> That's definitely a GREAT lineup of some dynamic players! I particularly like the men's tournament lineup! You should also try to meet up with <Yelena Dembo> and shoot some pictures. :) |
