Caissanist: The official site is at http://www.cappelle-chess.com/home...., the "Standings" area includes performance rating information.

Caissanist: It seems strange that a tournament in France would have no leading French players in it, even though it is one of strongest chess countries in the world. FIDE ranks France as the world's #4 chess nation (based on average rating of its top ten players), but the best result by a French player in this tournament was a tie for 36th. Was there some kind of boycott?

refutor: well bacrot is in linares, and maybe the other top guys subscribe to karpov's theory that playing in opens makes you weaker
Mar-29-06  lentil: what happened here?! seems like a lot of players bolted after 1 or 2 rounds.
