Jun-04-06  Raskolnikov: <Karpova> Does 16...Re1 work?
Jun-04-06  Karpova: yes, 16...Qe1 would have done the same. Maher with a rating of 2102 should have seen that move but they may have blitzed out the moves for some strange reason.
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: Vachier-Lagrave lost against Spasov, doesn't look good for the French medal hopes.
Jun-04-06  doremi: China women has secured Bronze!

Go, China, go! Go for Silver!

Jun-04-06  doremi: China women has 2.5/3, but Russia women isn't in a bad position for Silver either, Russia women still playing
Jun-04-06  Raskolnikov: <doremi> Are you sure? The official page shows 1.5-1.5. I canīt believe Hou Yifan lost either but who knows..?
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: They've had the wrong result once or twice before, but there's been even more cases where the winning side lost on time...
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: Bareev lost, board four sure hasn't been successful for Russia.
Jun-04-06  doremi: Ras, I'm sure, I followed the boards, China has two Whites (boards 1 and 3) and two wins on those boards. The results cannot be both wrong, and the play was rapid too, i.e. cannot be a time problem either.
Jun-04-06  Raskolnikov: <percyblakeney> Yes, it is unbelievable... I must admit Iīve supported Russia :((
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: India is going even worse, Ganguly just lost against an Italy B player rated 2339...
Jun-04-06  doremi: Very close race for women Silver. Russia women drew on first and second boards. If third board is also a draw, then same board points with China and second tiebreak comes into play, don't know what that will be
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: If the official result is correct the women's silver is already Russia's, but it could well be wrong.
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: Among the men it looks like silver for China, third place could be anyone's...
Jun-04-06  Raskolnikov: Moro looks completely lost for me...
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: Yep, Russia-Israel 1-3...
Jun-04-06  Karpova: Next time Kramnik should play simultaneously on all four boards.
Jun-04-06  percyblakeney: I think USA will take the bronze on tiebreak, just ahead of Israel.
Jun-04-06  Raskolnikov: Thus russian men donīt get ANY medal?? Am I dreaming??
Jun-04-06  Karpova: Karjakin has a winning advantage against Bartel.
Jun-04-06  Karpova: <Raskolnikov: Thus russian men donīt get ANY medal?? Am I dreaming??>

Kramnik perhaps, for something like best performance on board 1

Jun-04-06  doremi: The official result for China women is wrong. Hou Yifan made the last move, and her opponent resigned. The correct result is 2.5/3
Jun-04-06  Xaurus: I am extremely disappointed by the Norwegian team today, except for Carlsen and his 2825 performance in the olympics. Shame Agdestein played so badly, his allergic problems has been tearing him apart.
Jun-04-06  doremi: Last board of China men has only to draw the better looking rook endgame to win Silver. Yaay!
Jun-04-06  Maroczy: The ICC has another score wrong, Wojtaszek playing black beat Eljanov.
