And most of the games posted on this site are dross, not worthy of a tournament with such a tremendous history. If this is the best that the British Chess Federation can provide then the future of the game in the UK is bleak. |

How long did the great GLC tournaments of the 1980s last for? The Lloyds Bank Masters? All those huge London congresses of the 1970s/80s? The Folkestone Easter Congress ? All long gone.
The ECF do not organise it by the way. |

I played a tournament in Dublin with him this time last year when he was rated 1400 or so, so thats an incredible rate of progress. |

This is poor IMHO- was there a valid reason for this? Otherwise top class chess is up for ridicule if short agreed draws materialize like this!
Whatever the reason perhaps in a top competition the rules should be changed to say no agreed draws within 25 moves -so PLAY! |
