Jan-17-07  GufeldStudent: Shirov, you are killing me. When are you going to regain your old form?
Jan-17-07  tsj2000: Its not surprising to see almost 1/2 of the field is heading the tournament. This shows how closer the performance of Super GM's have become. There is no clear favourite for any tournament and whoever is in good form wins. I think everybody is also trying to start 2007 on a good note.

By the way, where is Leko?! I thought he won the corus only 2yrs back.

Jan-17-07  percyblakeney: <Its not surprising to see almost 1/2 of the field is heading the tournament>

Radjabov is sole leader and Topalov sole second after four rounds, I'd say that is unusually uneven this far :-) Leko was invited but declined since he wanted to prepare for Linares.

Jan-17-07  ataturk: it is interesting that Rajabov plays topal on the last day of the tourney...
Jan-17-07  linux fan: <percy>, what's your source on Leko having been invited?
Jan-17-07  percyblakeney: <linux fan> There was an interview with him (after the Tal Memorial, I think) where he explained why he declined Corus.

  jessicafischerqueen: <14 DogKnight> maybe you should ease up a bit on the "dog" thing, sir. <Chessmoron> is extremely kind and would never mistreat any of God's creatures. Better watch out-- he's got a lot of friends in here. I also understand that he's currently under the protection of <Don Molinari> out of Los Angeles...

Also, re <Alice>, if you're at all interested in <winning friends and influencing people> you should know that women don't really appreciate being called "dogs."

This isn't the <Wizard of Oz>... Nobody wants to kill your doggies.

WOOF

Jan-17-07  linux fan: <percy>, are you referring to this? :)

http://nol.hu/cikk/423022/

It says the organizers and Leko's manager, Hensel "mutually agreed" that Peter wouldn't play.

Jan-17-07  percyblakeney: <linux fan> I found the one I was thinking of:

<I am not playing in Wijk ann Zee, as I need rest. This year I did not have rest at all, I was just working and playing. Now I’ll relax a bit, then prepare for Linares>

Jan-17-07  Happypuppet: <ataturk> Perhaps it will be a deciding game by then. Ah, the drama if that would happen.
Jan-17-07  vlado23: <Holmes> not 'homes' as in 'home boy' then

<dogs> don't judge an individual by their species people - imagine someone did that to us

Jan-17-07  vlado23: <percy> nice interview with Leko - got to love the caption 'Peter Leko is an exemplary man'

  jessicafischerqueen: LOL <Vlad> Yes, you've got it precisely. Although <Holmes> and <home boy> actually mean pretty much the same thing.

Here are some more <rap slang> synonyms that mean the same thing:

<G>

<Esai>

<Money>

As in, "What up, G-Money?"

Meaning, "How are you doing, buddy"?

Re <dogs> I love dogs. I just think <14 DogKnight> is a little defensive about his "dog" thing, especially if it leads him to say something sarcastically critical about <chessmoron>, who's the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet.

Jess

Jan-17-07  positionalgenius: This off day is killing me.Thanks to mamedyarov and morozevich for playing blitz on playchess to keep me sane!
Jan-17-07  vlado23: <Thanks to mamedyarov and morozevich for playing blitz on playchess to keep me sane!> what were the scores?
Jan-17-07  nescio: If the play tomorrow reflects the weather at the sea-side, we are in for a very stormy round. Hope the roof holds.
Jan-17-07  positionalgenius: <vlado>They weren't playing each other,they were playing 1/0 bullet vs. other top blitz masters and GMs.I don't think I've ever seen so many knight giving checkmate.... <..what were the scores?...>Well Morozevich is leading an Armenian IM 12-5 right now.Mamedyarov played several people but lost about 30 ratings points.
Jan-17-07  Delusional Patzer: Being such a kind individual, I shall share with you humans my prophetic vision:

Round 5 - Thursday the 18th

S. Karjakin - A. Motylev 1-0
A. Shirov - L. van Wely 1-0
S. Tiviakov - V. Topalov 1/2
D. Navara - T. Radjabov 1/2
R. Ponomariov - V. Kramnik 1/2
V. Anand - P. Svidler 1/2
L. Aronian - M. Carlsen 1-0

Jan-17-07  chessmoron: <<14 Dog Knight>: and chessMORON, I hope you don't own a dog. If you did, it would either be on a chain all day and starving and probably beaten, or, if you live in an aparetment, kept inside all day then beaten for not holding his feces in for hours (ever try that yoiurself? It ain't easy...in fact it's torture) but hey, they're just dogs, right?>

Keep cool my babies. I actually own a dog. I don't mistreat my dog in any way or form as you described on your post. I love all kinds of animal: sweet to dangerous.

I have seen "scented meat" literally means dog meat in Chinese been eaten in rural Asian restaurants but I refused to eat it.

Simmer down man!

Jan-17-07  Delusional Patzer: I would take a monkey over a dog any day, and ashamed be all those who say otherwise.

Besides, dog meat is soooo juicy and tender.
hoo hoo hooo..

Jan-17-07  positionalgenius: <delusional>You're posts are among the strangest I've ever seen here.Still,somewhat amusing... <14dogknight>Why are you slamming <chessmoron>? He's a kind and respected kibitzer here.I advise you lay off him or you will earn the reputation of a troll quickly.
Jan-17-07  KKDEREK: <According to Chessmetrics' age-aligned rating lists, Kasparov was the best 20-year old followed by Kramnik, Fischer> Tsc! And some people have doubts about Kaspa be the best of all time..At least in numbers, we see that playing black or white, his percentage of victories is far superior from anybody else..And he played for almost 30 years
Jan-17-07  yalie: bold prediction: vishy anand is going to go +2 in the next four games

i doubt sviddy tries the grunfeld against vishy. of course Vishy may go e4 and we will have another sicilian

Jan-17-07  positionalgenius: Yes! More games tomarrow!

  jessicafischerqueen: Yo <positionalgenius> I'm going to stay up all night tonight watching the games. You gonna be kibbitizing in here tonight as you watch?

Hope to run in to you, Looks like <Wilson> has defended himeself politely but very firmly and that his friends have leapt up quickly in support. Without <Chessmoron> this place would be a desert.

So there.
