Jan-18-07  Ragh: <yalie: bold prediction. vishy anand is going to go +2 in the next four games> A very challenging prediction, I should say. becoz Vishy will be playing against Kramnik, Topalov, Radja and Svidler in the next 4 rounds...

With 3 blacks out of 4 games until now, his scoreline of 2.5/4 should be fine. But Radjaboz is just rolling on...

ahmadov: <percyblakeney: On the pointless statistics section it can be noted that Radjabov has been working hard for his points, with a move average of 60. All his games have reached the time control, while none of Aronian's have (his move average this far is a bit below 29).> Very interesting statistics, <percy>. You have always been our statistics man who comes out with such interesting info from time to time.

Does anyone know what happened to Aronian? He is obviously not in a good form...

Jan-18-07  14 Dog Knight: I want to take back my comments on Peter Svidler's picture. I looked at it again and, despite the fact that it gives some guys "nightmares" and some don't like his earring, he is being himself. Peter Svidler has been among the world's elite for many years and you never hear about any Topalov-style antics about him. He plays with class and skill. I doubt it but if you look more closely at his ridiculed photo you may see what I finally saw, a gentle, kindness in his eyes. I bet he loves dogs...;) I never hear about anyone rooting for Svidler, so I will be the first...GO SVIDLER!
Jan-18-07  percyblakeney: <Very interesting statistics, <percy>>

Thanks! I do think Aronian will do quite well in Corus, I just noticed that he has had black in three of his four games this far and has gone in for the safe approach. If he can beat Carlsen with white today he could be on his way in the right direction, but if there is one single winner today my bet would be on Karjakin.

Jan-18-07  Delusional Patzer: <14 Dog Knight> I actually like Svidler a lot and feel the same way you do about the picture. My joke was completely in good spirit, I meant no offence to him.
Jan-18-07  Delusional Patzer: Besides, I'm a dreadful mess when it comes to fashion so I can't talk.

jessicafischerqueen: <Delusional> you are really too kind. Anyone with any sense knows <Svidler> is a great player. I'm sure he can take a joke. Look how many people you made laugh!! You had <positional> rolling on the floor, man.

Good work.

Jan-18-07  thathwamasi: guys...does anyone know if Anand will play at Linares this year?
Jan-18-07  ganeshknight: Linares 2007 is having a spectacular field..
Veselin Topalov, Viswanathan Anand, Peter Leko, Peter Svidler, Levon Aronian, Teimour Radjabov, Magnus Carlsen,Alexander Morozevich
Jan-18-07  Delusional Patzer: Can you imagine how horrible it would be for Carlsen if he continues to do this badly here and as a consequence bombs it in Linares too? It gives me chills thinking about it.
Jan-18-07  Delusional Patzer: Brings eerie images to mind of an older, piss drunk, washed up Carlsen.
Jan-18-07  DCP23: <14 Dog Knight>: <I never hear about anyone rooting for Svidler, so I will be the first...GO SVIDLER!>

Man, I've been an avid Svidler fan for many years now, and I always root for him in all the tournaments.

ahmadov: <percyblakeney> <...if there is one single winner today my bet would be on Karjakin.> Interestingly, many people predict his win. It can also be a draw, although I also predicted Karjakin's win on <YourRang>'s forum...

jessicafischerqueen: Less than two hours to the ACTION. Looks like I picked a bad week to quit <amphetemines>. Got to stay up this time...
Jan-18-07  Delusional Patzer: Been trying to take a nap for the last six hours but I'm too excited.

I'm gonna be too spaced out to know what the bleep is going on.

jessicafischerqueen: <Delusional> smart move taking a nap. Thanks for your posts, by the way, your'e cracking me up. I left another <movie trivia> question in <dom's> forum in case you get bored.

Cheers, Jess the Mess (lotta coffee here- I don't want to miss the games either)

Nebuchadnezzar, King of Jews
Sold his wife for a pair of shoes.
Know whats the difference between ol' Nebu and a chess player? A chess player queens his pawn
Nebuchadnezzar pawned his queen

Jan-18-07  TylerD: yalie: my prediction is bolder: Vishy will NOT go +2 over the next four rounds. He will go 0 over the next few rounds.
Jan-18-07  stefan1967: <hardeeharhar> May be the king was happy to get rid...Who knows...
Jan-18-07  TylerD: And my guess is also that Svidler WILL use his beloved Grunfeld if faced with 1d4 from Anand
Jan-18-07  TylerD: BTW: to me Anand-Svidler looks like one of the most likely draws in the whole tournament.
Jan-18-07  hardeeharhar: <TylerD: BTW: to me... Anand-Svidler...draw> 9 decisive games, 2 wins for Svidler, 7 for Anand, 23 draws. Yes, the draws have it
Jan-18-07  hardeeharhar: Radjabov is on a roll right now and Navarra could possibly be the next victim. They seem to have played just once before, that in 2000. The game was drawn, but both these guys must have been in early infancy back then. I'd say Radjabov will win.
