Plato: Jakovenko wins Aeroflot. I called this one from the start :)

My Linares predictions, by contrast, don't seem to be turning out too well (unless Leko starts winning and Carlsen starts losing).

percyblakeney: ...so regardless of tiebreaks Alekseev has the chance to secure a Dortmund ticket if he can beat Sargissian.

ahmadov: Eltaj Safarli wins Tigran Petrosian with one move: e4...
Feb-22-07  gmgomes: Aleksev x Sargissian: after move 31, engines evaluates Aleksev with comfortable 2 pawns up, but both players are in time trouble - letīs see how they will get up to move 40.

percyblakeney: Looks like Alekseev is going to Dortmund.
Feb-22-07  gmgomes: Sargissian had better resign now.

Plato: <PhilFeeley> My mistake! For some reason I thought yestereday's round was the last one, and Jakovenko had the best tiebreaks.
Feb-23-07  tarlan13: E.Safarli - T.Petrosian

PhilFeeley: <Plato> An easy mistake to make. The last round shows how "GM draws" work against you if you want to win a tournament. Alekseev earned the win.
Feb-23-07  Mameluk: Alekseev, Jakovenko, Tomashevsky and their latest results call for dismantling the ceiling of the toilet.

Plato: <PhilFeeley> He certainly did. Congratulations to Alekseev. The talent pool of young players these days is enormous.
Feb-24-07  Mameluk: http://www.chessninja.com/dailydirt... See the discussion here. Perhaps somebody already started dismantling the ceiling. Chess starts to remind cycling, delaying the transmission should be duty very quickly.
