Mig http://www.chessninja.com/dailydirt... has a good mention and http://reports.chessdom.com/sigeman... has a round 5 report, but it seems this is it. It is difficult to want sponsors in chess when having no coverage. Even worse, a 29 000 eur tournament got a preview http://previews.chessdom.com/benido... and no mention anywhere. I dont think sponsors will be happy with that. And the field seems great.
Anyways, back to Sigeman. If tomorrow Cheparinov wins he will secure the title. However, I believe that Negi and Tiger will not give up that easy. I would say Berg Negi is the exciting game of tomorrow. |

<Berg sacrificed a piece for three pawns in a sharp Najdorf variation against Negi. The first new move of the game was 20.Qd4 which gave Berg compensation for the piece but not more. However, a fatal miscalculation from Negi cost him the game. When playing 30. - Qa4 he probably missed that Berg wasn't forced to recapture the rook on move 33, but could play 33.Kb1 instead. After the superior 30. - Qxe4 there would still have been everything to play for.> |
