Apr-30-07  Inf: wow, 2 great old chess player, or shoud i say titans ( in their time ) playing against each other?? how many games for this?? oh and i have never been..

1st to post wOOt!

Apr-30-07  Timex: There were 6 games. In the 4th game, Spassky overlooks a piece with Nd3?? and Portisch simply captures the knight with Rxd3. In the 1st game, Spassky sacs a pawn to acheive a won position.
May-01-07  mynameisrandy: I take it this was rapid?
May-01-07  Knight13: I really wished Spassky won this.

karnak64: Aside from game 4, what a delight it is to see these two old lions have at each other!
May-03-07  Chess Classics: It's matches like these that make me yearn for the "golden days" of chess, which I wasn't alive for and didn't really even exist. But still, I agree with <Inf>...

ganstaman: Well don't I feel stupid. I thought they were both dead. Time to look at some games played by ghosts.
May-03-07  Chess Classics: <ganstaman> Well, Spassky had a small heart attack about 2 months ago, but appears to be in fine form. Portisch, I had no idea if he was alive or not.
