May-20-07  percyblakeney: First will maybe Nepomniachtchi be in the end, but after five rounds he's 0.5 behind Andriasian and Negi, who drew their game in 17 moves.
May-20-07  Timex: You guys shouldn't compete over kibitzing first in a page. Kibitzing is wise messages about games.

Is this a round robin tournament only?

Think that belongs on the Odd Lie page. :-)

May-20-07  Ragh: <Is this a round robin tournament only?> Yes, its a single round-robin (all play all) event. More info about this World Youth Stars tournament being held in Leningrad, Russia can be found at http://www.somovs-memorial.ru/index...

BishopofBlunder: Hmm, no Americans. This is something that needs to change.

kellmano: I think Nepo is the class of this field. Sometimes trained by Morozevich and plays a bit like him.
May-21-07  Marvol: <BishopofBlunder: Hmm, no Americans. This is something that needs to change.>

Indeed, the US should offer a few of them a US passport ;-)

May-21-07  Inf: there is someone interesting to see in one of these tours... his name is Emilio Cordoba.
May-21-07  Youjoin: <Inf: there is someone interesting to see in one of these tours... his name is Emilio Cordoba>

He´s name is Emilio Cordova, of Peru.

May-21-07  Ragh: The tournament leaders after the sixth round are Negi and Nepo (both on 4.5/6). Tomorrow is a rest day for the Young stars.

USA has already used up their ration of young talents for the time being. Next one will be born in 2049 :)

May-23-07  percyblakeney: Nepo won against Negi today and is sole leader after 7 of 11 rounds.
May-23-07  malthrope: Nepo's game against Negi was a beauty... First-class technique how he created weaknesses and penetrated with the Q + R was truly a work of art! Bravo Nepo! :-)

That table looks impressive... Nepo has played against the numbers 2-4, beaten them all and is in the lead.

One would say he's the favourite to win it now.

kellmano: In <Marvol's> link, Nepo looks like a cooler, younger version of the Svid.
May-24-07  Youjoin: Negi won his game today against Safarli. The rest of the games were drawn.
May-24-07  Ragh: Great! It looks like this tournament is also going to stage a photo-finish just like the way M-Tel masters' last round enthralled us earlier this week.
May-25-07  VishyFan: I hope that Negi will win this and gain some valuable ELO....., right now he's gaining 14.9 ELO with a Rp of 2654....

even if he manages to draw his last 3 games, he will end up gaining 14 ELO....

May-25-07  Youjoin: Nepo lost today to Zhigalko. Andriasian and Negi drew their games, so the three have 6 points whit two rounds to go.
May-25-07  Ragh: Cool! Negi and Nepo are in joint lead at 6/9, with just two rounds to go. I think it can't get any closer for the title fight at this stage.
May-26-07  Youjoin: Negi and Andriasian won today, and Nepo drew his game. So:

Andriasian and Negi have 7/10, and Nepo 6,5/10.

One round left...

May-26-07  angslo: all the best to, Negi
May-27-07  angslo: Negi and Andriasian , both lost in final round
May-27-07  percyblakeney: If the official site is right Nepo won, the top four all had 7 points:

1. Nepo
2. Mamedov
3. Negi
4. Andriasian
