  WBP: Wasn't 45. Rg7 better? (threat Nd7+ followed by Re7#)
Jun-01-07  percyblakeney: In 27 games in Corus and Linares Aronian only had one loss, now Carlsen has given him two in five games.
Jun-01-07  Knight13: <acirce: ...48.f8=Q#> 49. f8=R# is better. :-p

Ulhumbrus: Now that Black's QB no longer covers the square d7, this suggests playing for Nd7. Marmot has given the pair of moves Rg7 and Nd7. A brilliant idea, and instructive too, Nd7 being played as one of a pair of moves.

boz: The depth of vision this kid has is amazing. I defy any computer to conceive of such a line as early as Carlsen must have.

WBP: <Wasn't 45. Rg7 better? (threat Nd7+ followed by Re7#)> Now it doesn't matter! Great game, Magnus Carlsen!

WBP: Four decisive games out of five. We're getting our money's worth, that's for sure! Terrific work here by Magnus!

boz: Has Carlsen played 1.e4, 1.Nf3, and 1.d4 so far in this match?

Eyal: <TheBB: This... is the best match ever.> What a pity it's only one more game in normal time controls.
Jun-01-07  AdrianP: That is an extraordinary game! Magnus pretty much had to calculate to the end as early as f4 (in fact probably as early as Rb8+). Just mental. I heard a bit of Yasser, and he was struggling to see what was going on even after things had been played out until Kf3. Astonishing for Magnus to see all this, and even more astonishing for him to have been confident enough it was winning... Very, very special game (marred only by the fact that Aronian played so poorly in the opening).

AMEN!

Jun-01-07  malthrope: Well, I guess now being a fan of both players as super stars in their own right... I'll take a well played hard fought draw in Game #6 and just enjoy the remaining tie-break games to decide it all! ;-)

Jack Kerouac: As noted earlier, the f6 square was Aronian's undoing.
