Mamedyarov (+7 =1 -3) Andersson left after round 6 Aug-25-07    notyetagm: Another disastrous second half for Mamedyarov, going +2 =1 -3 on the second day after going 5/5 on the first day. I didn't check, but I'm guessing the top players don't usually play against each other in the first half. Last year at the Tal Memorial Blitz tournament, Mamedyarov started out 7/7 and then collapsed completely after that. I think he finished at around +3, which means that he was +7(!) in the first 7 games and then -4 in the remaining rounds. Mamedyarov keeps doing this, falling apart completely after brilliant starts. That first loss he suffers must kill his confidence or something. At Ordix this year he blundered and needlessly lost to Navara for his first loss and then it was all downhill after that.
