  BishopofBlunder: <Reinderman>???

Isn't that the movie with Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise?

Apr-06-08  Edwin Meyer: Yeah! Visser is in the lead! Go and win your last tournament!
Apr-06-08  bravado1: Where is Van Wely?
Apr-06-08  Edwin Meyer: Having sexy time with his wife.
Apr-07-08  paavoh: <bravado1 & Edwin Meyer> van Wely is at Russian Team Championships, but not doing too well. Check out the web page: Russian Team Championship (2008)/Loek Van Wely
Apr-07-08  Eti fan: yes, the Russian team chess championship seems to have taken the quality away from the Dutch championship. Still, it will be a nice event.
Apr-07-08  Youjoin: <Eti fan> So you are saying that Van Wely is a synonymous of quality?
Apr-07-08  sitzkrieg: his wife is.
Apr-07-08  zoat22: tiviakov lost today.... he is having a horrible tournament
Apr-08-08  percyblakeney: In the women's section Tea Bosboom-Lanchava lost to a 2040 opponent in her third game. In the next round she lost with white to 2020 rated A Haast

Apr-09-08  percyblakeney: <Naughty Tea! Naughty!>

Today she really was naughty, winning with black in 19 moves against leading Muhren.

The position from yesterday’s game L. Bensdorp (2085) - T.Lanchava (2365) after 54. ...Ba3 would make a nice puzzle.

Apr-12-08  MarkThornton: Last year, Erwin l'Ami played aggressively throughout, and did not win. This year, the young man is playing like an old pro, drawing against his main rivals and picking off the back markers.

The contrast is most notable in these two games against Stellwagen:

E L'Ami vs Stellwagen, 2007 and Stellwagen vs E L'Ami, 2008

In 2008, he expended 1/10 of the effort, for the same result as in 2007.

Apr-13-08  Alphastar: Jan Smeets is the new Dutch champion by beating Stellwagen in the last round!
Apr-13-08  Buddy Revell: Some surprising decisive games in the last round! I'm actually having a hard time believing the relay is correct! =P
