Jun-02-08    percyblakeney: The field was a bit weaker than in last year's event, where Ivanchuk won ahead of Grischuk, Radjabov and Shirov: Pivdenny Bank Chess Cup (2007) Jun-02-08    mckmck: Anatoli Karpov performance is Unbelievable. Jun-02-08    percyblakeney: <Anatoli Karpov performance is Unbelievable> It sure wasn't bad (2686 performance), even if he was ranked third in the field and is at his best in rapid chess nowadays. On the whole the bottom three were different class, and that's where the top players picked points, for example Ponomariov went +6 in his 6 games against Golubev, Beim and Korchnoi. The biggest surprise was maybe the top two, Tregubov and Drozdovskij, the latter being rated below Korchnoi. Jun-04-08    wallytherhino: 4-way tie is pretty crazy. The games were very interesting for this tournament!
