 | | brankat: Just logged on and read last couple of pages of kibitzing. All sorts of comments, but nothing about the scores. Does anyone happen to know the outcomes of completed games? Thank You. |
| Aug-22-08 | | arkansaw: Shark and Pono won, rest drew |

 | | brankat: <Arkansaw> <Kramnik never quite had a reign unlike Anand and Kasparov,> What Anand reign are You referring to?
Last 11 months? |

 | | brankat: <arkansaw> Thanks for the scores. This translates to 1,300 chessbucks for me :-) |

| Aug-22-08 | | slomarko: <Petrosian beat the other top GMs at Cuaracao (Fischer, Geller, Benko, Korchnoi, etc.) to earn the right to face Botvinnik in 1963 while Kramnik has never made a similar accomplishment.> in fact Kramnik lost in every qualifier he ever played in. against Kamsky and Gelfand in FIDE and PCA respecively, then in the match against Shirov 1998. then he even tried FIDE K.O. and got kicked out by Adams. |
| Aug-22-08 | | arkansaw: At the end of the day, I think Kramnik will be better remembered for his contribution with regard to unification than his WC match victories. Despite beating Kasparov, he was never able to exert the same kind of domination over other top players. |
| Aug-22-08 | | lorker: <arkansaw> well neither did Topalov or Anand. |

 | | brankat: <ILikeFruits> Last 20 years? Meaning since '88? If I remember correctly Kasparov held the title at the time, and up to 2000. Karpov was a "parallel" champion from 1993 to 99. Kramnik from 2000-07. For brief periods also FIDE "representatives", the likes of Khalifman, Ponomariov, Kasim... So, again, where was Anand the champ for 20 years? India? Perhaps You should increase Your intake of fruits. |

| Aug-22-08 | | lorker: <notyetagm> < I am from the school of fighting chess...> so basically as long as the player fights hard fought games you don't care about the quality? in that case why not follow a 1000 player or something? Because Kramnik usually plays very high quality chess, and he does fight pretty fast ( you don't see him agreeing quick draws too often). But if it is the lack of decisive results you are complaining about ( even though he often wins every game with white) then I think you should become a fan of a 1000 player; he would lose loads of games and play loads of fighting chess. |
| Aug-22-08 | | jacqueslaumone: Geez. I've heard people say that Kramnik is boring, but the repetitiousness, the predictability, the dullness of the Kramnik-bashers is truly breathtaking. The exact same comments, year after year. At least Kramnik comes up with a novelty sometimes, even when he wants a draw in a Petroff. |

 | | visayanbraindoctor: I just perused through the recent posts in this page, and found out that a surprisingly (or not surprisingly) large number of posts are about Kramnik's person. Regarding Vlady's draw with Chucky, there's nothing wrong with it. Given what I regard as his lousy form in rounds 3 and 4, I was half expecting Kramnik to lose to Ivanchuk by making another blunder. However, he played without errors this time, and since Ivanchuk also played without gross errors, the game ended in a draw, as with most games where both sides do not err. Strangely, while a lot of posts hit Kramnik, none hit at Ivanchuk. |

 | | chancho: Just type Kramnik in the search kibitzing feature. For Kramnik, you get 8,212 pages, Anand 4,997, Kasparov, 4,981, and Fischer, 3,776. This guy Kramnik is a real guilty pleasure in these parts. |

 | | acirce: <Strangely, while a lot of posts hit Kramnik, none hit at Ivanchuk.> It's to do with prejudice, fashion, irrational hatred and bitterness. There is nothing that suggests that Kramnik is less of a "fighter" than Ivanchuk, but Kramnik is the target "just because". |
| Aug-22-08 | | Bobsterman3000: <acirce: I bet if Kramnik wasn't such a lazy bum and actually tried to make use of his talent a little, he might have become World Champion. Perhaps he'd even manage to defend his title a couple of times. > LOL
I agree. |
| Aug-22-08 | | slomarko: <There is nothing that suggests that Kramnik is less of a "fighter" than Ivanchuk> ROFL. time and again i'm surprised how delusional Kramnik fanboys are. hehe next <acirce> is going to tell us that Leko is just as much fighter as Topalov. |
| Aug-22-08 | | arkansaw: okay I missed that, but Anand has the best record against top players |
| Aug-22-08 | | madlydeeply: I will jump for joy when Anand pummels Kramnik into smithereens. I may even sing happy birthday. |
Aug-22-08
 | | chancho: Kramnik in 2008: 34 draws in 56 games.
Ivanchuk in 2008: 71 draws in 116 games.
Chucky played more games to be sure, can someone please work out the draw percentage? I'm curious to see whose is higher. |
| Aug-22-08 | | Kangaroo: Close enough: 71 draws in 116 games means 61.21% (Ivanchuk) and 34 draws in 56 games means 60.71% (Kramnik). You would better think of who they played with!
| Aug-22-08 | | arkansaw: percentages are not sufficient, one must also consider the side that initiates the draws |
| Aug-22-08 | | Jim Bartle: 116 games in 235 days for Ivanchuk. That's awfully busy no matter how many draws he plays. (The "super-busy" Carlsen has also played a taxing 104.) |
