Dec-18-08  anandrulez: Aronian is just winning now after Ivanchuk' blunder ...
Dec-18-08  shintaro go: Rybka has Movsesian at +5.79
Dec-18-08  anandrulez: Aronian won , Movesian as per Rybka is winning and Topa looks likely to hold his game
Dec-18-08  arkansaw: chessok getting relay errors for Movsesian's game, but chucky's blunder is real, he's NOT in form at all
Dec-18-08  badest: Topa - Bu drawn
Dec-18-08  k0mi: cool. Topalov had guts and played originally with an exchange sac and it resulted in a draw in the clash of the 2 leaders.
Dec-18-08  arkansaw: well done Topalov, attacking chess lives on

brankat: It looks like Svidler should win his game vs Movsesian..
Dec-18-08  shintaro go: I can't believe Bu let Topalov off the hook.
Dec-18-08  jacqueslaumone: It is beginning to look like this tournament will be Bu's Great Leap Forward, his first elite success.
Dec-18-08  percyblakeney: Ivanchuk is sinking like a stone on the rating list (in spite of Svidler missing the win in their game), and now he is black in the two upcoming rounds.
Dec-18-08  shintaro go: Svidler has avenged his loss to Movsesian in their first encounter.
Dec-18-08  arsen387: fine games by Aronian and Svidler!
Dec-18-08  jacqueslaumone: <Ivanchuk is sinking like a stone on the rating list (in spite of Svidler missing the win in their game), and now he is black in the two upcoming rounds.>

Could he be negatively affected by the whole drug test nonsense? He has always been somewhat unstable psychologically, so something like that could possible unbalance him.

Dec-18-08  percyblakeney: <Could he be negatively affected by the whole drug test nonsense?>

Maybe also that he is playing too much, but in this form it won't be easy for him to play black against Topalov tomorrow.

Dec-18-08  anandrulez: Topalov gets to maintain his 2800+ after this game ? http://chess.liverating.org/ he is right now at 2802 ...

amadeus: Topalov is going to lose 1.1 points.

(Btw, a loss against Bu would have cost Topalov 6.1 points... a win = +3.9) Source: http://ratings.fide.com/calculator_...

Dec-18-08  anandrulez: thanks , so topzilla keeps his rating above 2800
Dec-18-08  hovik2003: Late as usual, nice bounceback by Aronian, I never expected 2-0 against great Ivanchuk, it seems Chucky's strange powers over Aronian is gone forever!
Dec-18-08  Ladolcevita: Bu missed a very good chance...like a comet, maybe would never return, maybe would return rarely....
Dec-18-08  hand banana: yesterday was a bad day for armenians, today for chess tourists..
Dec-18-08  Dormouse: jacqueslaumone, I also think the doping issue may be disturbing Ivanchuk. I hope he recovers soon.
Dec-18-08  shintaro go: http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...

Apparently, Chucky's chair broke in yesterday's round. Also check out Movsesian, he looks like a midget standing next to Svidler.

Dec-19-08  Billy Vaughan: I hope Ivanchuk doesn't do a reverse MTel and lose all his last five games.
Dec-19-08  hovik2003: Ok, even in his worst form nobody should underestimate Chucky, he lost only two games in this tourney( both to Aronian), I am sure he will score couple of games in remaining rounds, you can bet on that!
