Mar-05-09  muradov: Radja dissapointed Rybka in time trouble, with 39. Rc4, Rybka suggested 39. Rf3, with +0.71, now it's +0.41.

Any 'master' opinion whether this is enough to win? :-/

Mar-05-09  Jim Bartle: Gonna make things happen there, Geronimo, gonna shake Djibouti?

  Geronimo: I can't say a shake, but I might see a shiek...
Mar-05-09  karoaper: Maybe you'll see a booty shaking sheik
Mar-05-09  Kaspykov: there is no progress possible for white because the d4 square is controlled by black "e" pawn. the white rook is weak

now things has moved but its still drawish.

Mar-05-09  muradov: a pawn of Leiner looks dead..
Mar-05-09  mindanalyzer: this is a draw
Mar-05-09  hovik2003: so we have <Geronimo> an American Indian chief who looks like President Bush's childhood after a severe fight with his classmate, and now he lives in Kenya and is going to Djiboutiland!

Man, this is odd!
That is like a novell!

Mar-05-09  muradov: looks like draw soon..
Mar-05-09  esticles: <muradov> Rybka evals are mostly meaningless in endgames. The position is drawn unless black blunders. 39. Rf3 would have also lead to a drawn position, despite the superficially higher eval.
Mar-05-09  randzo: draw officially
Mar-05-09  Kaspykov: special mention to Ivanchuk who hasnt lost a game yet.

he could be first if he hadnt given a draw to Dominguez and Anand. :o

Crazy Ivanchuk could be the big winner :o

Mar-05-09  Kaspykov: white wins: (16,66%)
black wins: (12.50%)
draw: (70,83%)

:D

Mar-05-09  hand banana: haha, check out this new chesbase article on linares. http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...
that kramink picture from 1994 is just hilarious.
and that svidler picure.. wow
Mar-05-09  hovik2003: One thing is sure, it is looking real gloomy for Grischuk now, he have to face Anand as white and Aronian as black in last two remaining rounds, so if you ask me, I say it is wide open for anybody to win Linares down to even Wang and Radjabov if everything happens in order for them!
Mar-05-09  randzo: report on chessbase is just great i couldnt believe that it was Kramnik :D olso Svidler looked great
Mar-05-09  znprdx: Hi ...Has anyone noticed that the 13th and 14th round pairings of LINARES 2009 are inversed - posted on site [http://chessok.com/?p=21366] I would assume they should be the reverse of the 6th and 7th rounds respectively - although it makes for a more dramatic effect - which presumes someone is psychic :)

Mar-05-09  Udit Narayan: Judit Polgar looked beautiful -_-
Mar-05-09  hovik2003: I think they made a mistake, that is not Svidler back in 1994!

KingG: What was up with the horrible glasses they wore in those days?
Mar-05-09  hovik2003: This was early post-soviet era, these guys didn't make much money off chess to buy 400-500$ glasses!!
Mar-05-09  Jim Bartle: Svidler does appear to have had enough money to eat well.
Mar-05-09  hovik2003: Well now you are talking about Svidler in 1998, that year is considered middle post-soviet era!!
Mar-05-09  Udit Narayan: Does anyone else think that Ivanchuk circa 1991 looks like a carbon copy of Zac Efron?
