technical draw: I take it back. These are pretty strong players. And it should be between Munguntuul and Shen. Sebag is strong too but seeing that she has already lost her chances have dimmed.
Sep-28-09   dumbgai: Only six players in a GP?

percyblakeney: Of the twelve players in the field Zhao Xue and Dzagnidze have the highest rating, still a slightly weaker event than the first Grand Prix that had both Humpy Koneru and Hou Yifan.
Sep-28-09   kurtrichards: <whiteshark:<kurtrichards: Any info> She won today.> I knew that. I mean, some personal circumstances or a photo or something.

whiteshark: <kurt> She's no. 60 of the latest Fide-fem-list. Some more input done on her players page.
Sep-28-09   dumbgai: How does Yildiz keep getting invited, with her #365 world ranking among females?
Sep-28-09   despantes: Maybe because Turkey hosted one of the tournaments?

technical draw: My moneys on Yang Shen.
Sep-28-09   dumbgai: <Maybe because Turkey hosted one of the tournaments?>

Yes, that's right. But my point is that the policy of inviting a local player no matter how outmatched they are is utter bull****.

Bradah: Yang is the ying. Put your money on her and do the ka ching!!! :o)
Sep-28-09   redwhitechess: I still love Zhu Chen, eventough she went to Qatar. The women event usually has more decisive result, hope this one also like that.
Sep-29-09   Ladolcevita: zhu said in the after-match report that she would not be distracted for her missing the very easy win in the previous round, and when asked that how she arranged and dealt with the balance of career and family well,in particular, nursing babies, she smiled "many thanks for.....its like 20 points out of 100 full points, when I returned to the board after a long break from chess taking care of my kids..."

Seemingly her form isnt bad,so I hope she could go on this winning or nearly-winning streak....

al wazir: If Caster Semenya played chess, would she be allowed to take part in the Nanjing Women's FIDE Grand Prix? Would she be required to undergo a gender test?
Sep-30-09   flhoosier: wonder why yifan hou isn't playing in this tournament?
Sep-30-09   jameskobe: its for women!
Sep-30-09   volvak: <flhoosier: wonder why yifan hou isn't playing in this tournament?>

whiteshark: Yildiz is clearly the seal in the shark tank, the punching ball of the tournament. Drawing her is like a defeat.
