HeMateMe: You can't mean hou yifan? Don't the very young elite players drop juniors events? I think Magnus Carlsen was playing in Corus 'C' at age 13 and never played a junior event again.

Oct-23-09   znnnk: highest rated player, Mary Ann Gomes lost

Oct-23-09   Turkito: what an unprofessional organization by the chess federation of Argentina. What an unprofesional web page! I dont have any doubt about the mess that is going on there.
Oct-26-09   dumbgai: Yildiz leading. Says something about the strength of the tournament.

Wild Bill: <dumbgai: <Yildiz leading. Says something about the strength of the tournament.>>

In defense of Ms. Yildiz, she was badly overmatched in Nanjing. I'm not surprised that she's doing well here.

Harika, the defending champ, is missing. I think she's still under 20.

HeMateMe: Why are there only 53 female players here, but 87 players in the boys tournament?
Oct-26-09   dumbgai: Most of the best players don't play in these junior events anymore. Most of the top eligible players aren't competing: Harika, Lahno, both Muzychuk sisters, Tairova, etc.

HeMateMe: Ok, but shouldnt they be replaced by the next eligble player? Are these two tournaments set up by 1) number of countries submitting one player, or 2) number of countries with at least one player above a certain minimal level?
Oct-27-09   redwhitechess: Also many chinese players not playing. Ju Wenjun was at Chigorin memorial and where she is top in females category.
Oct-27-09   Blunderdome: <dumbgai> don't forget Hou Yifan, who would destroy this field.
Oct-28-09   wolfmaster: Any Americans is this?
Oct-29-09   Paraconti: I miss the days when soemone would enthusiastically post links and even more links to young girlie chess players...

Cool graphics. Muchas gracias.

Nov-16-09   clma55: Can some one explain why S. Soumya was the champion if she: -needed 1 more game than Cori Tello to achieve 9.5
-She lost the games against Cori Tello and B. Yildiz
