tpstar: <Picture to remember> Ivanchuk didn't want his implanted computer chip to catch a virus.

Too bad he didn't have a real mask on hand and had to use an athletic supporter instead.

Nov-18-09  DiscerningKing: Agree one of the Best Tournaments in Years!!
Nov-18-09  jussu: What, we should be whining our intestines out, not a single participant made less than six draws!
Nov-18-09  ounos: Just stand a minute a think: in a century's time, somewhere, there will be a Carlsen Memorial. Can you imagine it?

Oh scrap that. I'm just a bit touched by seeing this picture of young Tal: http://www.chessbase.de/2005/leipzi...

Nov-18-09  Red October: <ounos> given that they just found the gene that can make one live to a 100, we may have to wait a long time..
Nov-18-09  laskereshevsky: Sorry if im too late.

Somebody would please try to contact mr. Danailov and ask him the exact number of Kramnik's visits to the toilet? ....

If I remember well, He showed in the past a natural good disposition toward this fondamental point....

... wouldnt be?!

....:-)

Nov-18-09  ounos: <Red October: <ounos> given that they just found the gene that can make one live to a 100, we may have to wait a long time..> "We"? I don't think either of us is going to see that happening, gene-fiddling or no gene-fiddling...
Nov-18-09  Red October: what would be funny is if Korchnoi was around still kicking butt in that Memorial heh!
Nov-18-09  ounos: lol!!! indeed.

Here is Korchnoi, at the same period as the above picture ('60): http://www.chessbase.de/2005/leipzi...

Now, would *you* trust a guy with such looks? :D

Nov-18-09  KamikazeAttack: It has been an amazing 2.5 weeks.

I can't rememebr when the chess world was treated to such an excitement and fun.

I remember folks looking forward to it months ago, it sure lived up to the hype and billing.

Organisers would be celebrating now and soon be busy putting together next year's version.

Move over Corus and Linares, Tal is #1 now.

This almost knocked me to the floor :)) Chucky is simply great!

kingfu: Great tournament! Much better than the blitz nonsense. Leko, Svidler AND Morozevich with NO wins for the whole tournament. Amazing.
Nov-24-09  KamikazeAttack: <Much better than the blitz nonsense.>

lol

Jan-21-10  laskersteinitz: I'm impressed with Carlsen, who managed to not lose a single game while sick (well, depending on how sick he really was). I'm pretty sick right now myself as I speak, and I can't imagine exerting myself for more than just a few seconds over a chess board!

Being sick sucks. But recovering from illness is AWESOME!

Thanks

Hesam7: Any idea if there will be a 2010 edition? We have had it for 4 consecutive years since 2006 but there has been no news for this year's event.
