Dec-31-09    Octavia: Luke has 3/4 Dec-31-09    Prugno: GM Rozentalis is known mostly as a positional player, but today he said goodbye to the year 2009 sith a very unusual tactical finish (in an already winning position) vs. Miezis. The game will probably be posted tomorrow, but having watched it live, I thought of mentioning it here before I forget: after 49... Kh4, we have 50. Qh3+! Kxh3 51. Rxh5 mate. The website says 1st prize is 20,000 Swedish Kronor, which translates to c.$2.8k I wonder why players like McShane are at this event, unless they've received appearence fees I can't see how this would be worth their while when you take into account travel and accomodation expenses.
