Feb-16-10  randzo: all games drawn today .Tommorow we have here clash of Titans Topalov-Grischuk
Feb-16-10  siamesedream: All draws in round 4.
Feb-16-10  Snakebite: I would play a double bluff if I were Topalov - avoid my main lines for a year, then play the alternative (1 e4 e5) that I had had a year to prepare/practice!

peyote: Ivanchuk & Carlsen never resort to the double bluff...
Feb-16-10  siamesedream: <Every day is a rest day for me.> For Jack Kerouac, for sure [Eraserhead is a really strange movie].

Eyal: Anish Giri's wrap-up of round 4: <Topalov: novelty, draw; Aronian: ending, technical, still draw; Grischuk: strange prep, maybe even worse, draw.> (http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail...)

In addition to Grischuk's "little success" being co-leader after four rounds of this tournament, he is the defending Linares champion (Linares (2009)), the current Russian champion (Russian Championship Superfinal (2009)) and #6 on the live rating list (http://chess.liverating.org/). His CV is growing steadily more impressive.

Feb-16-10  redribbon3700: Awesome cartoons

Feb-17-10  humangraymatter: Nice cartoons but I think the one on Gary's nose should be Kramnik not Svidler.

whiteshark: <Draw ratio so far: 83%> If they gonna draw all the remaining games it will be 91%.
Feb-17-10  znsprdx: "Dias de descanso 17 y 22 de febrero" rest day between rds 4 & 5 as well as 8 & 9...so today and next Monday
Feb-17-10  messachess: <Peligroso Patzer> I hadn't reviewed anything before making my remark. I'm a Grischuk fan here. Glad to see when it's all pulled together that the record is so impressive.
Feb-18-10  randzo: Topalov tried h3 against Najdorf
Feb-18-10  Atking: I like too this system with white. Already looks easy for Topalov. He is in a challenging form.
Feb-18-10  Atking: Now Topalov threats : 12.Be3 and if 12...Qxb2 13.Rb1 Qa3 14.Rb3 Qa5 15.Bb6 Qg5 16.f4 Qg6 (Qh4+? then Bf2) 17.Be3 ~18.0-0&19.f5

Eyal: In Topalov-Grischuk, 12.Be3 Qxb2?? would have been more simply refuted by 13.a3! with the threat of Ra2, and Black can resign. But maybe Topalov wants to develop his bishop on b2...
Feb-18-10  randzo: 13.g5 by Grischuk now 14.Ba3 looks good for Veselin
Feb-18-10  philchess: Is this the highest draw percentage of a tournament so far?
Feb-18-10  randzo: OMG this Benoni is so hard to play for black
Feb-18-10  jhoro: the weird looking 19.Qa3 20.Qb2 keeps the Queens on the board which makes sense with the time advantage Topalov has
Feb-18-10  znsprdx: good grief has Rybka lost it suggesting 20...0-0 which seems like suicide...at least b5

OMG Grishuk is toast ,,, h4 could be crushing
