|Aug-08-10|| ||Ladolcevita: I did meet one guy in high school and several guys in university...but both my high schools and universities are a bit avant-garde...I mean,it's not typical at all....
But in my daily life,chess is something perhaps nobody ever knows,talks or gets interested...
You know,first,we have our own chess,Chinese chess XiangQi,and another fairly popular chess,WeiQi...So they occupy most population of those who enjoy such kind of games....And secondly Chinese people are practical,they dont really consider these things as serious as westerners(as far as I've observed here)....
So after,chess is really cold...let me use my "cold"...
So I think I'm very proud of these Chinese players,Buxiangzhi,WangYue,HouYifan,Wanghao,Nihu-
a,Zhuchen,Xiejun and so on...they are really some people making way all by themselves and achieve a great success....|

Yes, I am hoping Wang Hao, Le Quang Liem, and Wesley So get invited to Corus A in January.
|Aug-08-10|| ||wolfmaster: I don't think So will be invited. Russians like Tomashevsky and Vitiugov deserve it more.|
|Aug-08-10|| ||Don Cossacks: I agree<wolfmaster>.|
|Aug-09-10|| ||Don Cossacks: Rapid games will be played on August 11-14.|
|Aug-09-10|| ||Matsumoto: Seems China is crushing Russia! The power house of chess is moving East (but let's not forget Carlsen).|
|Aug-09-10|| ||Matsumoto: Why is not Le Q playing in the junior championship. He might have had a good shot there.|
|Aug-09-10|| ||parrot: <I don't think So will be invited. Russians like Tomashevsky and Vitiugov deserve it more.>|
The organizers are not after what you think or what you don't think.
Bu Xiangzhi- Vitiugov 1-0

Bu Xiangzhi- Vitiugov 1-0>
Classical games: Bu Xiangzhi tied Nikita Vitiugov 0 to 0, with 1 draw.
Including rapid/exhibition games: Nikita Vitiugov beat Bu Xiangzhi 3 to 0, with 2 draws.
Only rapid/exhibition games: Nikita Vitiugov beat Bu Xiangzhi 3 to 0, with 1 draw.
I don't think so.
|Aug-09-10|| ||Don Cossacks: Russian and Chinese players like Vitiugov,Tomashevsky,Ian Nepo,Wang Hao,Bu Xiangzhi deserves to be invited in Corus A. |
Top Russian players like Grischuk and Karjakin had recently competed in Mainz so they can't compete here.Kramnik and Jakovenko were busy in preparing for next tournaments.
|Aug-09-10|| ||Ladolcevita: Well,one should gain a position fair and square,for instance by his or her Elo,or some wonderful performance in a particular tournament....|
|Aug-10-10|| ||taofelix: there is a recent book by chinese national team couch, sorry i dont have the title at the moment, but you'll find it in london chess shop,
the man is convinced in his methods of teaching chess, all based on a I-CHING, which i like and respect, being myself wery interested in chinese culture. unfortunately in rome there are only humble chinese trying to survive, i never found one playing even their chinese chess!|
|Aug-10-10|| ||taofelix: by the way, as you all remember, there is an eternal discussion on the origin of chess: (chinese or indian?)
i think there is a undeniable proof that chess come from china:I-CHING is a most ancient and the most mysterious book in the world. now if you take a look on the grill of I-CHING hexagrams you'll see a perfect 8x8 square! coincidense?? i doubt very much|
|Aug-10-10|| ||Ladolcevita: <Taofelix>
Really?....Are Chinese overseas leading such arduous lives?
I've never been abroad,so I dont know...but I always thought those were the richer guys==...I wonder what's it like in other countries,I guess:1.very few people comparatively 2.better living standard and environment...
But I still dont understand why people settling abroad,isnt that feeling weird and lonely?
|Aug-10-10|| ||taofelix: the book in question is:
"chinese school of chess" by liu wenzhe
published by b.t.batsford in london 2002
as to immigrantion- the main reason is survival, it is very sad to see any immigrants community, the only people that have an advantage are artists, quality scientists, musicians, good chessplayers etc
|Aug-10-10|| ||taofelix: ladolcevita, what do you mean you've never been abroad? are you chinese?|
|Aug-10-10|| ||Petrosianic: <what do you mean you've never been abroad?>|
He means he's never been a woman.
|Aug-10-10|| ||taofelix: petrosianic, ilike that one lol|
|Aug-10-10|| ||Ladolcevita: <taofelix>
Yes,is there something else to referred to by one saying"been abroad"?what had I been looked upon at first?I always thought my English should read weird by native speakers:)
Liuwenzhe,Chinese variation guy,yes...but actually the Chinese national team coach has always been YeJiangchuan for a long era,is Liuwenzhe a former one?...
|Aug-11-10|| ||Marmot PFL: The Chinese in America that I know are doing well, mainly because they work hard, and very few seem to drink much or use drugs.|
|Aug-12-10|| ||Chessforeva: 3D games:http://chessforeva.appspot.com/C0_t...|
|Aug-13-10|| ||Don Cossacks: Nikita Vitiugov is scoring heavily for the Russian Team right now on the rapid games.Tomorrow would be crucial for both teams.|
|Aug-16-10|| ||Don Cossacks: Best male player: GM Wang Hao 16.0/25
Best female player: IM Nadezhda Kosintseva 16.0/25
Best men team: China
Best women team: Russia
|Aug-26-10|| ||nvrennvren: football is the biggest sport in china, but chinese still suck at football.|
there are a lot less people playing table tennis in china than you would imagine, however chinese still rule the game.
it has something more to do with nature ,less with social structure
chess has never been a popular game among common people, there is no "chess country" in the world
|Aug-26-10|| ||nvrennvren: Don Cossacks
use "better"..not "best" for the team .we can understand you, but that's not english.
