Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-19-10  Illogic: Fressinet has been the sole winner the last two rounds. He's in the driver's seat though he does still have to play Bacrot.

HeMateMe: Half these guys appear to be Russians. Maybe Boris Spassky could throw his hat in the ring? He lives in Paris.

tamar: Edouard won a sharp miniature against Tkachiev, so has caught Fressinet.

Sokolov-Edouard

Aug-19-10  Marmot PFL: Every player has at least 50% draws, most more (Dorfman 100%). Is this typical of French chess?

ganstaman: The French Defense is currently +2 -2 =2 in this championship if I'm counting correctly. I was hoping for somewhat better.
Aug-20-10  paavoh: @ganstaman: 50% score for any defence is pretty good, on average White wins 55%.
Aug-20-10  Valmy: <HeMateMe>, it is not 50% from Russian origine, it's only 33% (4 on 12).

alexmagnus: <Every player has at least 50% draws, most more (Dorfman 100%).> And Dorfman's draws are mostly quick:

21 13 30 13 12 16 30 32 43 17

Aug-21-10  Atking: The "Dortman". "The man who can sleep during a game." He wakes up "Draw?".

Tabanus: And with Fressinet's wife winning the women's section, there is no doubt who is France's strongest chess couple.
