Domdaniel: Anand beat Giri. After many ups and downs, Topalov and Ivanchuk are probably drawing. Likewise Gris'n'Gash, a R+N-vs-R ending which could reach move 140.

anandrulez: Anand shows he is solid with a +3 in BF .
But his Rapid is dissapointing he is -1 in that format.
Mar-24-11  shalgo: No live coverage today?
Mar-24-11  shalgo: Yesterday we had a 50-move-rule draw in R+B v. R, and today we had one in R+N v. R.

  turbo231: <shalgo: No live coverage today?>

I think chessgames.com got tired of the criticism concerning their coverage. One member yesterday said it was laughable.

Mar-24-11  shalgo: Aronian has been playing very fast. His 15.Ne5 appears to be a novelty; 15.Nb3 and 15.Qc2 have each been played several times.
Mar-24-11  shalgo: Carlsen-Gelfand has become very sharp. The position after 14...Re4:

Kinghunt: Carlsen in serious trouble against Gelfand. 0-1 probably coming soon.
Mar-24-11  siamesedream: Congratulations to GM Levon Aronian for winning last edition of Amber and good luck in Kazań.

Domdaniel: Carlsen lost. He'll still win the rapids and come 2nd overall.

Good game by Gelfand.

anandrulez: Folks , Chessgames.com might have had an early schedule for live coverage . Chessbomb is one place where you can get some action !
Mar-24-11  The Rocket: Nice game by mr Topalov against Ivanchuk.

Peligroso Patzer: <kia0708: BTW, where are the combined standings for rapid and blindfold ?>

They are available here:

Mar-24-11  drnooo: Well it seems some gms can picture the board perfectly with their eyes closed, and..........some can't. Doubt if Naka would have fallen into mate had he been able to see the board better. Perhaps Aronion is one of those that can see the board as clearly with his eys closed as open. Though it still seems wrong for them even to be looking at a blank sixty four squares.
Mar-24-11  The Rocket: Nakamuras position was totally lost when mated so it doesnt matter
Mar-24-11  The Rocket: Nakamura cant stop the mate without just giving away material with check... so his options are just rxe6+ giving up his rook for a pawn ..

Agreed! Very cool indeed.
And if I were a billionare(well, less could do) Amber would go on forever (or almost ;).

Mar-25-11  kia0708: Aronian won the blindfold and took the 1st place in the combined standings. Congratulations !

Carlsen won also very good, especially in rapid (9 wins, wow).

I'm disappointed a little bit with Anand. Maybe his mind and heart were not there. Maybe he is thinking about defending the World Champ. I don't know.

Anatoly21: Aronian has pulled off a truly impressive feat: 3 Amber victories in 4 years. His blindfold victory is nice, but 3/4 at Amber is even more impressive. It indicates a measure of consistency in chess intuition and calculation that very, very few chess players reach.

Dionysius: Further to my post of 12 March, given the mumber of tragic mistakes even the greats seem prone to in this kind of blindfold play, maybe it's just as well that they aren't deprived of the vision of an empty board. The blindfold tournament was very entertaining I thought, but maybe more mistakes would have undermined that.
Mar-26-11  kia0708: Aronian with 6 wins and not a single loss impressed me very much.
