shivasuri4: Ivanchuk is the favourite here, but not by much,I guess.I hope Ivanchuk and Le Quang Liem share first.
May-15-11  APatzer: why no kibitzing here ... ?

shivasuri4: APatzer, that's because this tournament is poorly scheduled. The Candidates matches are going on now and people are naturally more interested in that.

On playchess they say 0-1,but the final position is not resignable IMO (though with Ivanchuk you never know ;).So...

May-16-11  zoren: i have no idea how ivanchuk is lost there, that is ridiculous since he was pressing the entire game and was in no danger to lose

beenthere240: This tournament would benefit from Sofia rules.
May-17-11  falso contacto: no news in Spanish about strange result.
just Cuban papers saying he won. no forfeit it seems.

parmetd: the rumor is Ivanchuk lost on time.
May-18-11  Lorenzon: andreikin is my favorite player today!
his skills at bullet and blitz chess are amazing.
nice to see he's getting good results at classical time controls as well.

tpstar: The tournament standings are off due to two duplicate games. I submitted correction slips for both.

shivasuri4: Rather annoyingly,Ivanchuk is going through one of his less impressive spells this tournament. Navara,Liem and Andreiken are joint leaders after 7 rounds with 4.5 points each.Ivanchuk is fourth with 3.5 points.
May-20-11  lazyknight: A Cuban fan posted in chessbomb confirmed that Le, Ivanchuck and Dominguez won their games in round 8. This means Le takes sole lead with 5.5 points. Ivanchuk, Navara and Andreikin is a point behind. Dominguez 3.5 and Bruzon 1.5

Go Le, you can do it!

May-21-11  patternmaster: Meantime we have one more 2700+ guy according to www.2700chess.com It's 20 years old Le Quang Liem from Vietnam. Moreover, if he holds today against Ivanchuk he will win his first super tournamnet in Havana!

Caissanist: According to the Radio Havana website, Le and Ivanchuk won their round 9 games to remain in sole possession of first and second with 6.5 and 5.5 points respectively. Ivanchuk has white against Le in the last round, it should be interesting. Bruzon, who lost to Ivanchuk in round 9, remains at 1.5; he has lost more than 30 rating points in the tournament.
May-21-11  Billy Vaughan: Chucky did it! Congrats to him and to Le Quang Liem for co-winning with 6.5/10 :)

May-23-11  APatzer: End stage losses for Navara, quite painful.
May-25-11  Penguincw: < Ivanchuk and Le Quang Liem tied for 1st with 6.5/10. >

But who really won on tiebreaks, if there were any?

May-25-11  bronkenstein: <But who really won on tiebreaks, if there were any?>

Chucky won on much better S-B (BTW winning in a must-win situation against Liem in the key game of the very last round ).

May-27-11  Firststep2: Hi guys, I found a site with all of Capablanca Elite games, on visor and to download (use the "Descargar PGN/PDF" button at the bottom of the article).
