Jun-21-11  Everett: <shach matov: <He is only principled if he shows he feels the same way once he is champion. Until then, talk of his principles is just that> it's not talk, it's a fact. Kramnik...>

newsflash: I'm talking about Carlsen, who has not become champion and thus cannot be considered "principled" in the manner I am discussing.

Jun-21-11  drnooo: just wondering what in hell happened the woman in dark glasses here she seems to be sleeping in the field with the crickets she was so sure Carlsen was going to walk away with this one
Jun-21-11  Ezzy: Karjakin's happy about the draw. He qualifies for the Bilbao Masters anyway!
Jun-21-11  17.Bxg7: Another tournament in which Nakamura, a top ten player, ends with a minus score
Jun-21-11  bronkenstein: Interesthing , Radjabov being in the upper half (3rd ) of the pack , still with minus score .
Jun-21-11  Mr. Bojangles: Carjak is my fav young player at the mo.

I hope he wins this thing.

Jun-21-11  Mr. Bojangles: Has anyone got any evidence that FIDE was corrupt?

parmetd: Radjabov was the only player without a win.
Jun-21-11  lemonadepawn: So Carlsen won the tournament...
Jun-21-11  kia0708: why not Karjakin ?

beenthere240: Ivanchuk, who tied for last, was the only player to beat Radjabov.
Jun-21-11  lemonadepawn: You can see on www.turneulregilor.com He won at TB3.
Jun-21-11  siamesedream: Congrats to GM Magnus Carlsen and GM Sergiey Karjakin.

Jun-21-11  frogbert: < I disagree with it and think getting rid of title matches would be a huge loss for chess with no real upside>

polarmis, carlsen has never said that he doesn't want title matches. getting rid of champion privileges does not imply not having title matches. it means that the champion isn't pre-qualified for the next title match.

carlsen has neither said that he's completely against using matches as a way to qualify for the final match.

it's important to read people's statements properly.

Jun-21-11  frogbert: a crushing win for the 1990s over the 1987s in this event, btw.

+6 versus -2 in the final standings.

crazybird: frogbert - you should get paid by Carlsen for the amount of labour you put in defending him again and again and again..
Jun-21-11  polarmis: frogbert, by a "title match" I meant a match between the incumbent title holder and a challenger - and to be even more specific - a match the incumbent doesn't need to qualify for. I hope that's clear enough.

Bishoprick: Yes, there is, ycbaywtb! The Great Spaghetti Monster created all the other gods! But among games, he only created chess.
Jun-21-11  checkmateyourmove: twitter nakamuraaaa = i would of killed ivanchuk today but i had a wedgy the whole game and i don't play well on tuesday and my shoes were untied. or else i would of killed him duhhhh
Jun-21-11  ycbaywtb: the problem with the world. People associate life as everything BUT their religion.

It's sad really.

What ever happened to being a spiritual person, made in God's image.

Just because we are playing chess, watching chess, or talking chess shouldn't mean God isn't in our lives.

He is.

Jun-21-11  Everett: <What ever happened to being a spiritual person, made in God's image.>

Who's image? Sounds like man made "god" in man's image. Everyone thinks "their" "god" is the true one, just like you, it seems.

Jun-21-11  frogbert: <I hope that's clear enough.>

it's clear, given the clarification - but "title match" does not in itself mean what you meant, so if you write on your site that "carlsen is against having title matches" you would be spreading misleading information. it would be some kind of propaganda for a certain view.

i like title matches too. but it hasn't got anything to do, per se, with champion privileges, polarmis.
