Aug-13-11  Fish55: Nice save to draw today from Robson, but tomorrow will be a challenge. Black against Hovhannisyan.
Aug-14-11  Don Cossacks: Girish got crushed three in a row by Hovhannisyan,Swiercz and Rasulov.
Aug-14-11  wordfunph: <Don Cossacks> just like Rombaldoni, another case of long castling :(

<Goganov vs Girish>

Amazing how White wins this game simply by <FIXING> the Black b7-,a6-pawns on light squares and the plays Bd7-Bc8xb7xa6.

  polarmis: All down to the tiebreakers now... Does Swiercz win the event overall after finally winning his game today? Hovhannisyan scraped a draw in a lost position to finish on equal points.
Aug-15-11  siamesedream: Congratulations to GM Dariusz Świercz of Poland!

  polarmis: Great! It was an amazing end to the tournament with 5 wins out of 6, and he was the only one with chances in the individual game against Hovhannisyan.

The funny thing is I got the impression he was playing in Wojtaszek-like positional style, which must be good news for the future! (we already know he's good tactically)

Hard to believe but they were the top 2(!) seeds when the tournament began.

Aug-15-11  jusmail: Can somebody point out the great games to be studied in this championship?
