I read your recent post that mentioned Maurice Ashley. Did you notice he emerged from retirement after 8 years to play in the Manhatten Open last month? You may be interested to hear that Amon Simutowe posted here earlier this year in response to a criticism that he was money hungry; that thread starts here: Chess Olympiad (2010) |

| Sep-21-11 | | bigatin: bigatin: <Ladolcevita: <SugarDom> So's page is indeed one of the most outstanding here in CG...When I visited it the first time,I was really impressed by those warm greetings and the cheerful spirit and other merits that So's page should boast. But I heard that So himself has abandoned this page...what happened then?(Many of the comments are written in Philippine,so I dont really know much about the whole story) Apropos of the fan matter,I think it is fine, provided such kind of the behavior is not so excessive that to the admired person s/himself,it has become very irksome already... Anyway admiration is indeed a universal affection, that takes place in many other public areas, and perhaps all over the human life too.> The true story behind the @#$%*&!# scandal revealed! Please read Wesley So page...beginning page 4570...

Most would see Wesley page the exact contrast and opposite of as you see it. And to them, I say: http://youtu.be/9wqQ6uSzI24 |

| Sep-21-11 | | bigatin: <kia0708: boring stuff> Speaking of opposites, this one is evidently the exact opposite of Albert Einstein. Here's kia0708 and his brothers:

 | | alexmagnus: <visayan> This constant "discrimination" of non-Europeans you complain about is non-existent. You say, "only" three non-Europeans became WCs? Well, correct - but "only"? 3 of 15, 20% - not bad for a game unknown outside of Europe for most of its history. Even now I think the ration of European and non-European chess players is about that... So, non-Europeans are not underrepresented/discriminated against, they are just represented the way they are. Also, do you say European champs have less talent? (I mean your continuous mentioning of "enourmous talent" of non-European champs). |

Maybe I am really ignorant when I said all those complimentary words, according to your flat reply<Most would see Wesley page the exact contrast and opposite of as you see it>,and certainly So wouldnt disown his page without adequate reasons, but in truth,I hardly go to So's page, let alone reading all those posts carefully. You know there were so many posts actually were written in Philippine that I naturally guess I wouldnt be able to follow the complete story there, and one wouldnt enjoy guessing clues between the lines all the time, yet somehow quite certain something has been missed already.
So I may be wrong...but it is just a simple impression of mine from the first time I visited that page...BTW,youtube was blocked here,so I'm afraid that I cant really follow you with that, and as for me,perhaps it's because I sometimes speak English in a remotely bookish manner, but I really wouldnt intend to project that kind of a profile... |
 |
| Sep-21-11 | | Boratco: Those who chooses not to go a certain page indicated will not understand the summarized event of what transpired those days will continue to perceive and assume what really happen . Youtube has got nothing to do with it. It is written in plain English. If someone can't follow what bigatin wrote, then I don't know what that someone can. As a non high school graduate, I manage to read "dumb ahss excuses, easy as 1,2,3" and it is written not the way I wanted. |

I should have said <A few>(which is the real case) than <most> in my reply. Then I know you would not change your mind as you would then be on the side of the majority. Now that I corrected it, perhaps you can change your mind? again? To help you decide, I again refer you to go over page 4,570 of the Wesley page for your more careful reading this time: Wesley So |
