Nov-03-11  cbpatzer: <jamesmaskell> true... probably the high traffic? Hope it gets better
Nov-03-11  polarmis: <cbpatzer> - I've said this before but given you clearly work for Chessdom (or there's another reason why almost every one of your posts includes a link to Chessdom you'd like to explain to us?) - please don't pretend to be writing as an impartial chess fan. The broadcast at WhyChess is showing exactly the same moves as at Chessdom - except it seems for some people who can't see anything at all.

p.s. and yes, as I've made it very clear here before, I work for WhyChess - though I don't have anything to do with the technical side of the website.

Nov-03-11  cbpatzer: <polaramis> if it were the case, why not drop an email? of course it is not, so let everyone express freely
Nov-03-11  polarmis: Who do you want me to e-mail and why? You're free to express whatever you want, but if you attack other websites while you only ever post links to Chessdom at this site then don't be surprised if people point that out.

It's not hard to check your old posts, by the way: User: cbpatzer

Or those of other Chessdom accounts like: User: supy

As I've said before - promoting a website is fine, but promoting a website while pretending to be a completely impartial chess fan is just deceiving people.

Nov-03-11  cbpatzer: <polaramis> you sing the same song, but if you work for "why" then you must be in contact with official sites and stuff.... I cannot help you if things are going in your head, paranoia is not for me to repair.
Nov-03-11  Slaven MNE: <polarmis> I really enjoy watching games at whychess, much more than on chessbomb, but today your team mates made large mistake. There it says Vladimir Georgiev is playing on 4th board for Bulgaria, but it's, much better rated, Kiril Georgiev, the one who is playing, actually.
Nov-03-11  semivalue: Svidler doomed
Nov-03-11  polarmis: Thanks <Slaven MNE> - I sent an e-mail to the guy in charge.

waustad: Unless Moro can scrape out a win, the Russians could lose the first match. Now that would be an upset.

waustad: That's funny, since I often post links to here on chessbomb as do many other folks. Mainly it is for opening explorer or occasionally for head to head record. Different sites have different strengths.
Nov-03-11  checkmateyourmove: webcam link for the tourney ? thanks!

  waustad: Svidler held the draw.

Sure, I agree, and it's fine to link to any site. All I'm pointing out is that <cbpatzer> and <supy> only ever post here in order to link to Chessdom, so clearly they have some connection to the site e.g. if I click your username and look at your last 10 posts I see 0/10 include a link to Chessdom. If I do the same for them I see 10/10...

Anyway, sorry for the off-topic discussion!

  waustad: Oh. FYROM is Macedonia.

I just saw the moves for why Moro won. 76.) ... Rg2 is incomprehensible.

Nov-03-11  jia: He should be stripped of his GM title! Hah!
Nov-03-11  bronkenstein: <According to ECU and FIDE rules, the time control will be 90 min for 40 moves + 30 min for the rest of the game <+ 30 sec increment> for every move played <starting from the first move>.> . . .
Nov-03-11  KKDEREK: Moro got lucky..A stunning blunder from Dmitry Svetushkin. Moro is n.8 at live ratings and just half a point from Topalov..Swell..

waustad: Table 13 wasn't one of the wired up ones, it seems. Chessbomb just went down to table 9. I was impressed with how quickly cg.com got the games posted here. They were being posted very soon after they finished. Maybe there will be a huge png file for download at the end, but I don't see one on the official site. They just linked to chessbomb and the Swiss generator site.

Marmot PFL: <1. Russia (Rating Average: 2758)

1 GM Svidler Peter 2755
2 GM Grischuk Alexander 2752
3 GM Karjakin Sergey 2763
4 GM Morozevich Alexander 2762
5 GM Nepomniachtchi Ian 2730 >

Even without Kramnik it's hard to see that Russian team not winning, although didn't Armenia win it recently?

Nov-03-11  frogbert: svidler, karjakin and nepo are warming up for tal memorial ... :o)

CG Librarian: <Slaven MNE> You're right. We also had the wrong Georgiev. I think the error must have gotten propagated from the official site.
Nov-04-11  Mendrys: It's nice to see Korchnoi playing in this tournament. I'd love to be able to say that when I'm 81 I'll still be that sharp.

<Polarmis> You should know of the old rule that in many cases any publicity, even bad, is good publicity. To that end I think I'll check out the chessdom site. Until now I've never really payed much attention to the links before.

parmetd: Is Judit Polgar playing for Hungary?
Nov-04-11  polarmis: <Mendrys>, I'd recommend checking out all the websites you can. I think with most chess fans/website users in general it's not a question of either/or when it comes to visiting sites, whatever some website owners occasionally assume.

For anyone who couldn't view the WhyChess broadcast - I wasn't able to see it myself on one computer but I've just worked out why. The AVG virus checker's "Surf-Shield" option was blocking it. You can turn that off by clicking "LinkScanner" and then unchecking "Enable Surf-Shield". I mentioned it to the programmer, so perhaps he'll find another solution.
