Nov-15-11  polarmis: <Kazzak: Use Google Translate on this page.>

But bear in mind they've still bizarrely got the wrong pairings there :)

Nov-15-11  Kazzak: Yup - got tricked by that. Very weird.

But they usually have beyond excellent video coverage, and looking forward to grumpy faces and lots of elation as the games develop.

YouRang: I see that the official site is down now.

That's actually progress -- before it was misleading.

YouRang: Oh good. The official site is back up.

The pairings are still wrong. :-p

Nov-15-11  messachess: Players who have something to prove (imo): Karjakin, Nakamura, Aronian.--that is, prove that they can dominate against this kind of competition.

Nov-15-11  M.D. Wilson: <<M.D.Wilson> Hi there! Last time we "spoke", some 3 years ago, or so, You were a medical student. I just checked Your profile to see the current status, only to find out that now You actually are a M.D.Wilson. Congratulations!>

Thanks, brankat. Indeed I am. Been a long time between chats. An MD now, like my convenient initials.

Nov-15-11  Mulyahnto: Russia chess has different pairings: http://www.russiachess.org/champion.... Which ones are right?
Nov-16-11  ARMENIA: Why does US get to play seven friendlies and Armenia has to play one yet? According to the Futbol website of Armenia, Armenia will not play one leading to the World 2014 qualifiers... What a pathetic way of putting together a story... Friendlies are meant to build further confidence and apply experience to the youth and going into a qualifiers without any additional experience and playing time is a HUGE mistake!

Nov-16-11  polarmis: Glad to see the official site finally has the correct pairings :) http://russiachess.org/championship...

moronovich: And all that is left is to take some lessons in russian <polarmis> ;)
Nov-16-11  Eti fan: Official site is http://russiachess.org/ and they will have video, live with the eurochampion Naiditsch commentary is at http://www.chessdom.com/tal-memoria...
Nov-16-11  polarmis: I've written a quick intro here: http://www.whychess.org/node/2996

Nov-16-11  Eti fan: Naiditsch: 10.b3 novelty! http://www.chessdom.com/tal-memoria... Aronian on fire
Nov-16-11  polarmis: <Eti fan>, Naiditsch got a bit carried away advertising his business project:

<10.b3!N here comes the novelty! Probably yet another great material for the next issue of Chess Evolution.>

It's not actually a novelty :) 14.Qb2 might be, as 14.Nd3 was played by Beliavsky - Antoshin in 1978...

Nov-16-11  Aspat: By move 19,Q exchanged. Now very few pieces on the board. Game is swiftly running towards draw. Usual boring style. Well played Anand(besides matches at least play 1 fighting game for your fans like me.)
Nov-16-11  Aspat: I can easily predict Anand's results in this tournament. He will keep drawing till he loses then he will win the very next game and the draw series will resume. Overall score=50%
Nov-16-11  Eti fan: <polaramis> thanks!
Nov-16-11  Aspat: Sometimes I feel that the engines out of habit while analysing Anand's games must be evaluating the position as between -0.1 to 0.1 without even looking at the moves...
Nov-16-11  polarmis: The Russian commentators said that when analysing the position Anand might have realised it's not so easy to defend for Black - with weak pawns and the king away from the action.
Nov-16-11  polarmis: Not sure Kramnik's making ideal use of his extra game with the white pieces... :)
