We do not have the blitz or blindfold games but hope to get them soon. We do have the rapid for both men and women. (See SportAccord Mind Games (Rapid, Women) (2011) for women's rapid.)

Dec-13-11  Penguincw: A pretty good lineup.
Dec-13-11  rapidcitychess: Bad date to start a top tournament on...
Dec-13-11  Penguincw: Wang Hao is dominating thus far.
Dec-13-11  frogbert: naka's birthday? how so, rapidcitychess?

wordfunph: my faves LQL and Chucky went pffftttt :(
Dec-13-11  fisayo123: MVL totally destroyed this super strong field in the blitz section. Amazing he fell out of 2700+. (for now) Also no surprise here. Aronian once called Wang Hao the most "talented" in one strong tal memorial field. Not sure he was being entirely sincere though as they are very good friends. :)

waustad: The blindfold games are being played now (5:30 EST). Are they done like at Amber, where the player looks at a blank board on a computer screen?

waustad: Chuky at -3 is a bit of a surprise though.

parmetd: How many rounds is this?
Dec-14-11  polarmis: Blindfold's still going on live now (I think it should be 7 rounds in total, today, tomorrow and Friday):

I've been posting some reports at WhyChess, though it's hard to get too many details (e.g. the blitz games!): http://www.whychess.org/node/3404

kevinatcausa: The Mindgames website (http://sportaccord2011.fide.com/ind... )has a feature up where they asked players "if they had this magical choice to be someone else... who would they be"? Some pretty funny answers
Dec-14-11  Bdellovibrio: <kevinatcausa> ha! Interesting spelling of V. Cmilyte's choice ("Mishel Fuko"); I liked Ivanchuk's and Karjakin's choices the most.
Dec-14-11  rapidcitychess: <frogbert>

During London classic.

Dec-14-11  chessmoron: It look like PGN for Blindfold games (Round 1-2) are on the official website.

Caissanist: Chuky's results are never a surprise, no matter what they are.
Dec-15-11  King Death: < Caissanist: Chuky's results are never a surprise, no matter what they are.>

If we can say the same for Nakamura because of his high variance style of play, I can't figure out why Ivanchuk's go this way, even all of his experience and knowledge.

Dec-15-11  matebay: why is Wesley So not invited? Maybe they're afraid.
Dec-15-11  Penguincw: No new games?
Dec-15-11  fisayo123: <why is Wesley So not invited? Maybe they're afraid.> Most if not all the players in this field are stronger than So.

virginmind: yeah, not quite his best tournament ever...
Dec-16-11  edbermac: <matebay: why is Wesley So not invited? Maybe they're afraid. >

Oh yeah, they're afraid of Wesley So-so like they're afraid of Magnus Carlsen.
