|Dec-23-11|| ||parmetd: The USCF spends about 90% of its money on sending kids to random events. I have an old copy of their finances from 2010 when I was a delegate. I was so disgusted looking at the sheet.|
|Dec-23-11|| ||Agent Bouncy: Spending money on kids is worthwhile, but not if it's to such a degree that USCF is unable to send teams to major international team events due to insufficient funds. It's disgraceful that there is no American team in world championship event like this. USCF has some of its priorities askew.|
|Dec-23-11|| ||shivasuri4: After 4 rounds,China is in the lead with 8 match points.India follows in sole second place with 7 MPs.|
|Dec-23-11|| ||Darth Simplicio: Are my eyes deceiving me or did China really just whitewash Russia 4-0? =O|
|Dec-23-11|| ||waustad: I was looking for games but today is the free day.|
|Dec-23-11|| ||knighterrant999: Kids are the future of American chess. Well, except for expatriated foreigners. Maybe USCF should send expatriates to more events.|
|Dec-23-11|| ||Ladolcevita: It seems now our most significant round should be the one vs India after the amazing perfect win vs Russia...|
Turkey is indeed a wonderful country,I remember somewhere reading a line,something like:If one has ever witnessed those splendid ages of Turkey,they would never find a better place than Turkey.
I believe your country wouldnt be lonely for there are many people that really appreciate Turkey:)
|Dec-23-11|| ||onur87: <lodelcevita> <waustad> Firstly my dear friends, excuse me for my awful english. we arent great chess country but we are improving. And if i talk about my country :), certainly i cant be neutral :). But i invite everybody here and i hope you like us and my country. Thanks..|
|Dec-23-11|| ||notyetagm: <waustad: It appears that China has swept Russia 4-0. Wow.>|
|Dec-23-11|| ||notyetagm: China 4, Russia 0

|Dec-24-11|| ||shivasuri4: After 5 rounds,China leads with a perfect score of 10.India remains in sole second with 9 points,but are yet to play some of the stronger opposition.|
|Dec-24-11|| ||polarmis: Here's my report on Round 5: http://whychess.org/node/3588|
It was pretty amazing, especially that the Russian players were worse early on with both colours and barely had a chance. It might be as Natalia Pogonina says that it's a tough time of year to be away at a team chess event.
|Dec-24-11|| ||waustad: The Russians took it out on India today. 3-1. The Kosintseva sisters both drew but Pogonina won and Gunina beat Tania Sachdev.|
|Dec-24-11|| ||waustad: Since China also won 3-1 they've extended their lead over India and Georgia, who drew with Ukraine.|
|Dec-25-11|| ||shivasuri4: So after 6 rounds,China leads with 12 match points,followed by India on 9 points and the duo of Russia and Georgia on 8.|
|Dec-25-11|| ||waustad: Kubra Ozturk scored another upset today by beating T. Kosintseva.|
|Dec-25-11|| ||waustad: After 7 rounds it is 14 for China and 11 for India. The remainding matchups are: China vs Ukraine and China vs India and India vs Georgia. I don't expect to see Ukraine beat China, but it would lead to aan interesting ninth round.|
|Dec-26-11|| ||Natalia Pogonina: Well, so much for the excitement over the gold medal. China is the winner.|
|Dec-26-11|| ||tamar: China wins, despite losing to Ukraine today 2.5-1.5|
|Dec-26-11|| ||notyetagm: <tamar: China wins, despite losing to Ukraine today 2.5-1.5>|
Yes, because India lost to Georgia 3-1.
|Dec-26-11|| ||tamar: <notyetagm> That explains Natalia Pogonina's posting.|
Russia can catch China theoretically in board points if things go their way in the last round, but China still wins due to more match victories. http://wwct2011.tsf.org.tr/en/compo...-
|Dec-26-11|| ||tamar: Chessdom explains it a bit more clearly.
Russia can actually match China if they win in the last round, and China loses.
But the tiebreak goes to China.
|Dec-26-11|| ||Penguincw: Bets open:
WWCT Rd 9: CHINA vs INDIA
WWCT Rd 9: RUSSIA vs ARMENIA
|Dec-26-11|| ||waustad: Wow, Zhao Xue lost to Zhukova today. She is at 6-2-0, but since the rest of the games were drawn, it was costly. Also, the last round starts much earlier, at 10:00 Turkish time which is 4:00 AM EST.|
|Dec-26-11|| ||waustad: Turkey got Greeced today.|
