kellmano: Giri must be feeling great. I'm assuming this isn't one of those positions where comp. evals are misleading.

kellmano: Vitiugov may struggle with the 50 move rule I suppose. Or perhaps there is just no way to make progress. Mate might be difficult so long as black has the spare tempo to flick the bishop from d1 - e2 and back.

Any theoreticians out there?

Naka just looks busted.

kellmano: Moro can also make the occasional annoying check on d3!

boz: Vitiugov Moro should be a draw because if Vit sacs the exchange to win the blsck pawn on f3, the black king will immediately take the opposition on f5. Unless there is some subtle zugzwang manoeuver, I can't see how White can make progress.

Yes, I hadn't seen that there was a way to keep the black king so far from the pawn while avoiding harassing moves from the bishop. Well done by Vitiugov.

Jan-06-12  AuN1: < technical draw: Morozevich blew it...>

it looked like he had a win earlier too which makes his defeat that much more bitter.
