Kinghunt: Yep, no way for Giri to escape from Aronian here. The funniest thing about that game is that Aronian actually has more time on his clock <before the time control> than he did at the start of the game.
Jan-25-12  kia0708: well, I was probably wrong about Ivanchuk ...
the old horse is still fighting
Jan-25-12  ChessMan94: Topalov will be kicking himself. That's too bad.

Kinghunt: Unbelievable 41st move by Aronian! 0-1 imminent.
Jan-25-12  Chuckles: <Kinghunt: Unbelievable 41st move by Aronian!> Fantastic!
Jan-25-12  Ezzy: frogbert: <Nakamura will be fighting for his first win against Carlsen, and Magnus will want to 'bounce back' after his defeat yesterday,> <or they both decided that some extra rest before the rest day would be good. ;o)>

Yeah, that game sort of fizzled out into a no contest.

visayanbraindoctor: Just took a look at Karjakin - Kamsky. Fine instructive play by Kamsky. he grabbed space on the Queenside and blocked off white's strong LSB in the process, controlled the open d-file, and is maintaining a blockade on White's f-pawn.

Meanwhile Navara made an obvious blunder with 30. Bxf5; I think he forgot that with his bishop gone, Ivanchuk could then play Re2.

Jan-25-12  qjuice14: gonna be a lot of decisive games for black this round.
Jan-25-12  ChessMan94: I like it when the kids get a whooping. Aronian-Giri. :)
Jan-25-12  Famfrenzy: hats off for aronian

Kinghunt: It doesn't seem too unlikely now that Aronian will finish this tournament as the new world #1.
Jan-25-12  kia0708: The biggest disapointment is Magnus Carlsen's quick draw. I expected that after his defeat to Karjakin he will come out roaring and fighting like a wounded lion !
Jan-25-12  Knight13: How is van Wely doing?

Strongest Force: What is Aronian's live rating after today's game? He is in the zone and not even breaathing hard.
Jan-25-12  drkodos: 2826

Jan-25-12  Atalante: Black day in Tata! Aronian is running away with the tournament. Ivanchuk is creeping up. Great performance by Caruana. Radjabov holding his own. Carlsen and Naka will have to go all out in the final rounds if they intend to finish in the top three.
Jan-25-12  LDJ: All games in the A group are already finished!
Jan-25-12  claia: van Wely accepted a draw offer in a winning position (with 40...Ra2!) !!
Jan-25-12  ChessMan94: I like Aronian's attitude. He won, yet he's not bragging. Excellent.

Jan-25-12  LDJ: <Kinghunt> Not hard to guess his result today, given his results in the previous rounds... :)
Jan-25-12  ChessMan94: Giri's interview was just posted. Nice attitude too. He's smiling despite the loss. I need to learn from these guys. :)
Jan-25-12  Knight13: Van Wely is the Carol Schlechter of this tournament.
Jan-25-12  LDJ: Sorry that message was meant for <Knight13>.

Maybe you're right but did he just call Aronian a cofee-house player?

Jan-25-12  Blunderdome: Not sure if Radjabov played Qf3 offering a draw or if Van Wely offered and it was just the DGT board picking up something that wasn't played, as sometimes happens. Both players were very low on time so Van Wely could have missed Ra2.
