Marmot PFL: Not a very encouraging start for Kramnik, but it's only game 1.

Strongest Force: Hmm...i can't stand losing sound more like Police lyrics...

acirce: Wow. Extremely superficial preparation by Kramnik. Not having considered 16..Qe6, he went straight into an inferior position. I guess he will hold this, but still a very bad start.

Strongest Force: Yeah, Marmot, I thought big Kram might get more stuff than he did.

waustad: Now Aronian has almost twice as much time on the clock.

Strongest Force: Kram has at least a draw, unless Lev tickles him under the table.
Apr-21-12  montree: I think f4 was a mistake and now black will have very good advantage. Bishop > knight

  whiteshark: Whup!!!...popcorns ready ;-)
Apr-21-12  jhelix70: move 28...Kramnik sacrifices a pawn to get some activity for his rooks...but Aronian looks like he should win

acirce: Should be won, but White has some practical chances because of the small number of pawns left.

Marmot PFL: After the rook trade it looks pretty easy for black. White could try to trade the king side pawns but h5 can be answered by g5.

Marmot PFL: Am surprised that black didn't trade rooks. i wonder what I missed.

tpstar: Quiz: what Police song does Kramnik sing in the men's room after he loses his Queen?

1) "King of Pain"

2) "Can't Stand Losing You"

3) "When the World Is Running Down, You Make the Best Of What's Still Around"

Shams: Interesting comment from GM Naiditsch:

"<31... Rf4> [O]ne more interesting thing about today's chess, we see Aronian is doing now similar like Magnus, playing very fast until a winning position, and now starting to play much slower when it comes to technique!"

Strongest Force: tpstar, I would like to think its 3.

I just read kellmano's counter quiz and feel bad I didn't give myself a chance to win.

Apr-21-12  jhelix70: Oh my!

move 40...my silicon friend thinks that Kram's Rd7 is a big mistake, and that responding g5 wins white's knight

amadeus: g5 and knight is gone
Apr-21-12  jhelix70: yep, Aronian saw g5...a blunder under time pressure by Kramnik

tpstar: Vladimir pays the price for Levon his Knight on the rim.

I like how ChessBomb has the continuous Houdini analysis next to the board, but the kibitzing comments over here are much better. =)

Marmot PFL: Kramnik's 40th move was a mistake, but with the knight stuck on h4 he was probably lost anyway.

  ketchuplover: Why not 17.Nc7?

Shams: Did Aronian even make one inaccuracy today? Naiditsch couldn't contain himself from praising his computer-like play at every turn.

<ketchuplover> 17.Nc7 Nc5 18.Nxe6 Rxd1+ 19.Rxd1 Nxe6 with the idea ...Nc4 looks nice for Black.

Apr-21-12  montree: from f4? it was downhill for Kramnik. Aronian's prep is fantastic!

Marmot PFL: 17 Nc7 Qxc6 looks good for black.
Apr-21-12  Arcturar: Aronian is on a roll! I REALLY hope he finishes the match on +2, as then he would go ahead of Carlsen on the rating list. :D Carlsen needs to be brought down a notch, methinks. I really like Magnus, actually, but Levon is playing even better at the moment. It really is a pity that he didn't win the Candidates.
