Kinghunt: You were so close to an automatic requalification, just a half a point shy... But it seems that you didn't take that loss too hard and are looking to get back with a vengeance!

HeMateMe: Looks like Natalie is well on her way to a trip to the closed Russian Championships. I guess the other top russian players are in that tournament that includes Kosteniuk and the Kointseva sisters, and they have already qualified.

Natalia Pogonina: @HeMateMe The sisters will be invited by rating. Alexandra doesn't have a spot in the Superfinal unless the RCF will make up a new rule.

The way things are supposed to be, Kosintsevas will qualify by rating; Gunina, Galliamova and Charochkina for winning medals in 2011, and 5 more players - for their performance at the Top League.

Wild Bill: Why, thank you, <Defi>.

I've grown accustomed to Darth Vader, however. He represents my dark side so well. A good chess player should always be in touch with his dark side.

twinlark: Wonder why Goryachkina's not playing?

twinlark: Google translate is a laugh sometimes.

Using it to translate the official webpage, Ekaterina Ubiennykh is translated as "Murdered Catherine".

Olga Girya becomes "Olga Kettlebell", Evgenija Ovod becomes "Eugene Gadfly" and Daniil Dubov becomes "Daniel Oaks"...I actually looked up "Oaks" before I understood it was Dubov.

HeMateMe: That would make them the second worst in linguistics--right behind ChessBase.

Kinghunt: Natalia secures an invitation to the Superfinal with one round to go! In the last round, the pressure is off and she's just playing for glory.

HeMateMe: As always, the Russian finals are an orgy of talent. I guess the USA is number two.

Natalia Pogonina: Thanks for the support, guys! +5 =6 -0 is not bad, although before the tournament I expected this result to be enough for gold, not silver! :D

Kinghunt: Kovanova had an absolutely phenomenal event, all the way through. Eight wins in this field is unbelievable.

brankat: 8/11 would have been enough for the gold most of the times, but B.Kovanova had an incredible score.

HeMateMe: Clearly, Kovanova was a Supernova!
Jun-30-12  apple scruffs: A mere matter of spelling, but I'd say Kovanova was a Supanova.
