Aug-02-12  drik: <tahdah: <At Corus B twice ...>

Fact: corus b once.>

Gentlemen, do you suppose that this poster is unaware that Corus & Tata are sponsors names for the Wijk aan Zee tournament? Or that Tata bought Corus Steel, leading to the name change?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tata_S...

If So ... sorry if so, how much weight to we give his opinions?

Just to confirm So finished 4th at Wijk aan Zee B TWICE. Once in 2010 (72nd tournament) when it was sponsored by Corus ... & once 2011 (73rd tournament) when it was sponsored by Tata. The first time he finished 4th, 1.5 points behind the younger Anish Giri. The second time he finished 4th, 1 point behind chess playing amateur & financial trader Luke McShane.

Aug-02-12  tahdah: Fact: corus b once.

KKDEREK: Tahdah, you are not funny at all..Even Norlito your countryman and Wesley fan is embarrassed for your nonsense, and told you to shut uo..Shut up, man..Its over..
Aug-02-12  maelith: Even if Carslen break Kasparov's rating,Kasparov's 2851 was more impressive as the next highest rated player was 82 points below that. Just wait until carlsen gets over 2900..
Aug-03-12  tahdah: The dawg is loose again, hurry, put some leash around its neck, make a sign, lost and found.

Come on boy, tsk tsk tsk, Ive got some bones for you.

Aug-03-12  tahdah: Sugardom didn't tell me nothing. My opinion is mine alone, either you agree or agree to disagree, its up to you? Am I correct? Are we clear on that?

Aug-03-12  tahdah: Look at this dig.

<Jim Bartle: "That's what is happening in Biel. In common parlance you call it "Manipulation"."

What's happening at Biel is that another player dropped out at the last minute and Carlsen was invited to take his place.

But yes, it's true in general, Carlsen earned his 2800 by defeating handpicked lightweights.>

<Bureaucrat: Jim Bartle, are you serious?>

<Jim Bartle: Keep going, voyager39, you're absolutely correct. In fact, the ratings of ALL players are manipulated upwards through carefully selecting weak opponents. (Kasparov and Carlsen most of all!)>

KKDEREK: No we are not ,tahdah>..We all know your <opinions> already, you stated for days, repeating yourself. You are polluting and trolling this forum long enough. Post an opinion is one thing trolling for weeks is another. Some people already complained for de Admn's I wonder why they didn't do anything already..You are luckier than Wesley, thats for sure..

So nope, you are not "correct", "we" are <not> clear, and you shut your hole.

Aug-03-12  tahdah: Much improved, from one liner to 2 paragraph, keep it up boy.
Aug-03-12  frogbert: at which age do children normally start getting irony, given a modest amount of exposure?

any experience or hunches about that, jim bartle? :o)

Aug-03-12  tahdah: I thought there was a post here a while back. Was it directed to tpstar? I think the answer was 7. hehe
Aug-03-12  BinisladNaBugaong: Maybe the question was what everyone has been wondering about: why is there a page here called The World vs. Akobian? Isn't it a fact that Akobian is also part of the world? Why not just do what the USSR did before, say Akobian vs. The Rest of the World? Or maybe style it as The World Except Akobian vs. Akobian by His Lonesome? Chessplayers are supposed to strive towards precision!

Aug-10-12  tahdah: In my opinion, carlsen will never be a champion, a real champion. He will remain #1 in the rating list but that is as far as he will get, unless, he breaks free from the show organizers and lead the other players to go play in the open seas. Right now, the blitz championship 2012 is an indication that only pampered fish will get the benefit of a farce show.
Aug-10-12  I play the Fred: <In my opinion, carlsen will never be a champion, a real champion. He will remain #1 in the rating list but that is as far as he will get>

Can't get much farther than #1, so I guess you're right.

<unless, he breaks free from the show organizers and lead the other players to go play in the open seas.>

Where SPECIFICALLY should Carlsen play?

<Right now, the blitz championship 2012 is an indication that only pampered fish will get the benefit of a farce show.>

Which players are the pampered fish, and which ones are the true barakudas (besides Wesley So)?

perfidious: Please forgive <Fred>, who's a good man, but obviously doesn't comprehend reality. Poor guy could never have known that you So 'fans' created spot (1a) for Wesley's inevitable ascent to the top of the world, along with (1b) for someone, as yet unknown, who'll also be stronger than any of these pampered goldfish, (especially that donk Carlsen), but can't touch So, merely looking on in awe at the colossus that bestrides the world, sweeping all before him.
Aug-10-12  tahdah: Rated no 1 is not a guarantee to become champion of the world and he never will be for if you thonk thats a measurement of a champion, go snatch Anand crown from the shelf now and give it to him for free.
Aug-10-12  tahdah: First he should go play in the olympics and not sit out to protect his bloated belly.
Aug-11-12  tahdah: Now I can grab a bun and munch it while watching people glued to the fish tank.

Well the 2500-2600 rated players which prevent Wesley from reaching the 2700 rating, ofc. Carlsen should obviously play opens exclusively and avoid playing the pampered 2.700+ GMs, like Wesley So, does.

So does not play the 2.700 GMs because he does not want to, because they are obviously weaker than GM Joe with a 2.500 unpampered ELO. Carlsen, Karjakin or Grischuk are so much below So's playing strength.

So is obviously the Chuck Norris of chess. He doesn't win rating points, rating points win him.

But this whole thing has nothing to do with the World Blitz Championship.

Aug-11-12  tahdah: Obviously, Grischuk wasn't even near qualifying for the WBC 2012, he was given a freebie slot like the other pampered fish. Out of the 16 participants, only 3 rightfully qualified for the one tournament qualifier held in K for the whole planet earth. FOR THE WHOLE PLANET EARTH.

Grischuk didn't make a dent on Wesley So during Aeroflot qualifier last year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RPNT...

Pono and the 5 other qualifiers had a legitimate gripe. A great travesty was done.

Wesley will get there the hard way, you all like it or not.
