The 1908 meeting was probably the weakest of the series thus far, with many top players on both sides missing. In the end, it was the Americans who pushed the right buttons and scored the most lop-sided victory to date. The 9th Anglo-American Cable Match (1907) and 11th Anglo-American Cable Match (1909) were the previous and next editions of this team match-up for the Newnes Cup.
