Chessgames.com Chess Event Description
US Championship (1966)
Robert Fischer won the US Championship for the eighth and last time. Fischer demanded that the next championship be enlarged by making it a double-round affair, or adding eight more players. When this was not done, Fischer refused to play in any more US Championships. Here he beat the field by two full points, the only undefeated player.
